Myles Wright is delighted to return to the (virtual) stage! Recent understudy credits: Hands Up (Alliance Theatre) & Ghost (Alliance Theatre). Other recent theatre credits: Preacherman (Trailblazers Collective), Titus Andronicus (Rogue Ensemble), Macbeth (Adirondack Arts) The Shit Show (No Peeking Theatre) and We Have Standards (No Peeking Theatre). Myles is an actor, writer & mentor from Atlanta, GA who obtained a degree in Film & Television Performance/Production from The New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts in 2018. Myles also self-published a poetry book in 2020 and is grateful for this beautiful opportunity & for the continued support from his family and friends! CASHEW, SPIRIT OF TUPAC SHAKUR, & SLAVE MAN (Cris Blak)
Cris Eli Blak is an award-winning writer, performer and educator. He is a two-time poetry slam champion whose performance pieces HOPE: Living as a Black Man in America and An Afro Response to the Killing of a Latino Boy in the City That I'm From have been performed by theatre companies and festivals around the country. He has had poetry, monologues, essays and short stories published, winning the 2020 Christopher Hewitt Award in Fiction and receiving a Pushcart Prize nomination. His plays have been produced around the world, from Off-Broadway, London, Ireland, Canada, and Australia.
THE POETESS (Dayanna Price)
Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Dayanna Price wanted nothing more than to sing. So a week after graduating high school with track medals and choral competition awards, she went straight to NYC to then graduate from both NY & LA's American Musical and Dramatic Academy with a BFA in Performing Arts. Graduating during the pandemic, she still applied herself to many opportunities like playing Shony in "Penny Kids," Envy in "Infernal the Musical," and having recurring appearances in shows like Dr. Phil and Divorce Court. Dayanna is excited and thrilled to be a part of Black Light Community and to help share the vision of David Stamps with New York City.

Bria Elise, a native of Brooklyn, New York is a recent 2020 graduate from North Carolina A&T State University. She graduated with a Bachelors in Fine Art in Professional Theatre and Dance as a minor. Anytime Bria get the opportunity to create, she take full advantage of it. Now that Bria is out of college she tries to take every day as steps towards her aspirations and goals. In the near future Bria aspires to become an actor, director, choreographer, and dancer for the film/tv industry and by the grace of God she will accomplish it all!
THE BELOVED SHOPKEEPER (Oscar Sanders)
Oscar Sanders is a lifelong Bronx resident who cooks cuisine looking and tasting dishes, enjoys all forms of entertainment, and is in the presence of black creatives on and off stage. My path educates and supports community youth. "I am the Dick Gregory and Paul Mooney of Poetry because I love doing what I do because I was gifted with the skill to entertain and imitate the voices and mannerisms of celebrities. Theater is my passion along with cinema. When I combine these ingredients with my disdain for prejudice, discrimination, inequality, and racism."
Josephine Baker & Distracting Waitress ( Brianna Justine)
Brianna Justine is excited to be working with BlackLight Community for the first time ever. She recently debuted in the NY theater scene with The Gallery Players (Armelia, Ain’t Misbehavin’). She is thrilled to be working on this new piece and to help bring this riveting dialogue to life. She’d also like to thank David M. Stamps for sharing this opportunity with all of us and being so present and insightful on this journey.
POLICE OFFICER/WHITE DOCTOR/BROTHER CAN DO/OVERSEER (Bruce Purcell)
Bruce Purcell has been an actor/performer since the age of 10 years old and has worked in stage, screen and television. He is also a musician, as well as, an acting coach. He moved to the Twin Cities, about five years ago, after 30 years in Los Angeles, where he worked in a variety of capacities in the entertainment industry. As a producer/director, he garnered an Emmy nomination for one of his documentaries and was part of the launch team for three cable networks. He brings with him tremendous knowledge of the entertainment industry, which he will share with anyone within earshot.
DANTE SHEEHAN/JOHNNY COCHRAN/SABOTEUR (Lücién Reubens)

I am a monument to everyone I meet that your circumstance doesn't dictate your final destination." LÜCIÉN REUBENS is a queer actor, technician, activist, art maker, and creator. They began working in professional theatre at Olney Theatre Center, assisting with lighting for the regional premieres of Elf the Musical, Once, Matilda, and Tiger Style!, as well as the North American premieres of Labour of Love, Oil, and Mary Stuart. They served as the production assistant for multiple of Studio’s 2021 production and branched out to work throughout the DC Metro theatre production scene for production. Caroline Fairweather (she/her) is an actor and playwright from Pittsfield, MA. Credits: Black Flag at Barrington Stage Company, ALIEN/NATION at Williamstown Theatre Festival, Twelfth Night at Pittsfield Shakespeare in the Park, QWERTY at Mixed Company. At Williams College: The Skriker, The Wolves, Tartuffe, La Clemenza di Tito. Founding member of Ghostlit Rep. At Ghostlit: Spring Awakening, The Tempest: A Musical, The Maids. Member of The Forest of Arden. Training: BA Williams College, Suzuki Company of Toga, London Academy of Music & Dramatic Arts, Attis Theatre.
NARRATOR  (Dale Harris)
Dale Genesis Harris is a New York, New Jersey based artist. She is 22 years old and is from Plainfield New Jersey. She is a senior at Montclair State University where she is receiving her acting training in the BFA Acting program and is obtaining a minor in business. Dale has been acting for eight years, she began dancing when she was three, and she has been writing and performing spoken word poetry since she was in the sixth grade. Outside of her performing artistry, Dale is an intern at the Bret Adams Talent Agency in New York. She also has her own hair care oil business but the name of Nourished Roots LLC that she founded in 2020. Dale has learned that throughout life there is no straight path. Therefore she aspires to be an all around artist. Her mantra is, “everything happens for a reason, we don’t know why and we don’t know how but in the end we will figure it out.
SECURITY/EMT #1 /THE SLAVE CATCHER (Irvin Mason)
Irvin Mason Jr. is a actor, director, and spoken word artist born and raised in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands. Some of his recent/favorite acting and directing credits include: Brand with UCLA’s School of Theater, Ain’t Misbehavin with Gallery Players Theatre, Once on this Island and Little Shop of Horrors with the Color Box Production Company, and Camp Song, a new musical developed for UCLA’s main stage season. He received his degree in theater with an emphasis in directing from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film, and Television. The best role Irvin has played is being a current middle school science teacher at Neighborhood Charter School in Harlem.
