The Appliance Department Cast

Kourtney Stierman (Ruby)
Kourtney is from Toledo, Ohio and is really excited to be back onstage making her debut at Black Swamp after a very long hiatus – she’s pretty sure this is how you find fulfillment. Most recently, she portrayed Sierra in Dr. Heath Diehl’s “The Ordinary Instant” for the 2026 production of Toledo Voices at Toledo Repertoire Theatre. She feels so very lucky to be a part of The Appliance Department’s cast and can’t describe what a joy it’s been to be working with everyone involved. Outside of performing, she is a painter, a talented pie maker, a writer, and a mother. She thanks Grayson, for being the reason, and her director and cast mates for being patient and accepting of them both. A *special* thank you to anyone that helped babysit during rehearsals, and thank you always to family and friends for loving her and being a fantastic, never-ending support system.
Owen Minchau (Charlie)
Owen Minchau is an actor, drummer, and singer-songwriter from Morgantown, West Virginia, and is excited to be making his Black Swamp Players debut as Charlie in The Appliance Department! He’s currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Communication: Acting/Directing Specialization Degree at Bowling Green State University, where he has performed in productions such as Swimming in the Shallows (Nick), Poor Clare (Francis), The SpongeBob Musical (Larry the Lobster), Head Over Heels (Ensemble), and Venus (Ensemble). Owen has also appeared behind the scenes at the university, in Peter Pan & Wendy, in which he was a member of the Flight Crew. When he’s not on stage, you’ll find him hanging out with his wonderful friends, writing (and rarely finishing) his own plays and musicals, playing frisbee with his dog Mazey, dangerously throwing himself down mountains on skis or mountain bikes, and listening to the alternative rock duo, twenty one pilots.
Angelina Sorge (Violet)
Angelina Sorge is from Wauseon Ohio and completed her Bachelor of the Arts in Communications: Acting/Directing Specialization at BGSU in 2024. While this is her first show with The Black Swamp Players, she has appeared in multiple productions on campus including The Wrestling Season (The Referee), John Proctor is the Villain (Bailey Gallagher) and Poor Clare (Ortolana). She has also appeared in several local short films including One Night Only and Lonely Ghost. A recent career highlight was her apprenticeship with Commonwealth Shakespeare Company in Boston where she performed in Measure for Measure (Francesca/Gentleman/Guard) and understudied for Shakespeare on the Common's As You Like It (Audrey). In her spare time, she enjoys riding motorcycles, climbing rocks and ice, and petting anyone’s dog.
Jade Long (Miss Abigail)
Jade Long (Miss Abigail) loves performing. Her last time in a stage show was in Parade with Perrysburg Musical Theatre, and it has been too long since. She spends her time writing and playing music, playing video games, and spending time with her brother Thomas.
Andrew Packard (Sam)
Andrew Packard is a Toledo based actor and writer. Recent stage roles include Arthur in Feathers and Teeth, Ben in Marble, Glenn in Wonder of the World, Mr Memory in The 39 Steps, Posideon in Medusa Undone, Malcolm in Curse of the Starving Class, Vanya in Life Sucks, and Leslie in Seascape, Andrew can be seen in the feature films The Amorette Hotel, The Curse of Bryerstone and Eviscerate Me! as well as the webseries The Next Best Thing.
