Philip Strom (Dancer, Artistic Associate)
Philip Strom is a NYC-based Dance Artist. He has performed with Andrea Ward, Bennyroyce Dance, Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance, Gabrielle Johnson + Artists, and RyderDance. Philip received his BFA from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he performed work by Crystal Pite, Sonya Tayeh, Ronald K. Brown, and Paul Taylor, among others. In 2018 Philip was selected to be a part of Springboard Danse Montréal’s 2018 project where he performed in original works by Maxine Doyle of Punchdrunk, and Emese Nagy of MA•ZE. In addition to performing, Philip has been a class and rehearsal assistant for Bennyroyce Royon at The Juilliard School, Ballet Hispánico, Joffrey Ballet School, and Peridance Capezio Center. He has taught and staged Bennyroyce’s work at Rutgers University, and led company rehearsals. As choreographer Philip maintains an ongoing choreographic research process “Silhouette Series” since 2019.
Marie Zvosec (Dancer, Artistic Associate)
Marie Zvosec is a stage director, teacher, performer, and choreographer. She is a graduate of The Juilliard School with a BFA in Dance. Other dance training includes the Dancers’ Studio at Oberlin and the North Carolina School of the Arts. Marie graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with an MFA in dance. She has been seen performing withs Bennyroyce Dance, TAKE Dance, Buglisi Dance Theatre, Douglas Dunn and Dancers, Hilary Easton + Company, Juri Onuki, Doug Elkins + Friends, Mary Seidman and Dancers, Regina Nejman and Company, Shannon Gillen and Elisabeth Motley’s DOORKNOB Company, and with the Metropolitan Opera in productions by Zhang Yimou and Mark Morris. Marie has directed and choreographed multiple productions for Brooklyn Opera Works, Lyric Opera Cleveland, Ohio Dance Theatre, Summer Vocal Arts and Musical Theater, and has created original works for Adelphi University, Bennyroyce, Dance, Springboard Danse Montréal, Blackbird/Oiseau Noir Dance, Moxie Contemporary Ballet, and Randolph College as a Helen McGehee Visiting Artist. She has collaborated with composer Niloufar Nourbakhsh and [metro collective] where she created M و E ر T ت R م O Parts 1 & 2. This work has been performed at the Bessie Schönberg Dance Theatre, in Jacksonville’s Electroacoustic Barn Dance, and at the Staller Center for the Arts. [metro collective]’s Un/Governed Bodies, a screendance work including artificial intelligence technology, premiered at Smith Hall Theatre in 2021. Marie was a Fellow at BAM’s Professional Development Program and was a full scholarship awardee for the Teaching Artist Training at the National Dance Institute. She was a faculty member at Adelphi University, served as Chair of the Dance Department at Randolph College, as well as the Director of the Helen McGehee Visiting Artist in Dance Program.
Abby Bailey (Pre-Professional Dancer)
Abby Bailey started dancing 13 years ago. In 2012, she joined Evergreen City Ballet where she is currently a Performance Division dancer. At ECB, Abby most enjoys choreographing for the student-choreography showcase Elevate. Spanish Lead and Snow Corps are her favorite roles that she has performed in ECB’s production of The Nutcracker. In her free time Abby enjoys making art and clothes, playing drums, singing, reading, and writing. She is a senior at Hazen High School, and she sings with their zero-period vocal ensemble. As a kid, Abby wanted to be a marine biologist or physical therapist, but now she is more interested in fashion design and dance. Abby is mixed-race and bilingual. Her extra-curricular activities are singing and performing Vietnamese songs for events such as Tết in Seattle.
Annamarie Doucette (Pre-Professional Dancer)
Annamarie Doucette is 16 years old and she is going into their third year of high school. She’s been dancing since she was 7 years old starting with a variety of styles like jazz, contemporary, tap, hip hop and now trains mostly in ballet and contemporary. Annamarie dreams of living in New York as a dancer, however, when she was younger she wanted to be a dental hygienist because she likes brushing her teeth.
Jamiah Wood (Pre-Professional Dancer)
Jamiah Wood started dancing at the age 4 with Centralia Ballet Academy. She is currently 12 years old and going into 7th grade at Centralia Christian School. Jamiah studies a variety of dance techniques including contemporary, jazz, lyrical, and ballet. While she loves all types of dance, ballet is her favorite. At CBA, she has performed in several productions including Sorcerer’s Apprentice, Midsummer Night's Dream, and The Nutcracker. Her favorite roles in CBA’s The Nutcracker are Clara and Snow. Jamie would love to be a professional ballerina someday. In her spare time, when not dancing, she likes to read, play other sports, and be active.
