Director & Producer
Mary Barth
Mary Barth began her career with the BHS drama club when she was 6 years old, performing as a clown in a Summer Family Theatre production of Barnum. During her high school years, Barth performed in many BHSDC productions, including: The Wizard of Oz, The Hobbit, My Fair Lady and The Music Man (just to name a few). After BHS, she traveled for a year with Up With People, earned her BFA in Musical Theatre from Emerson College, received her Actor's Equity card while performing for three years at Disney World in Orlando, FL, and earned her MM in Music Education from Boston University. During the day, Mrs. Barth teaches theatre and music classes as well as directs the chorus here at Barnstable High School. When she's not in the theatre, you can find her having family fun with her super supportive husband and their two fantastic sons...usually at a sporting event!

Musical Director
Kris Lariviere Hill
Kris has an extensive history with the BHSDC beginning way back in 1983 when as a naive freshman, she began her career as a shrieking head in the Annual Haunted House. She continues that role today as the Music Director for Mamma Mia! In the summer of 1990, former BHSDC Artistic Director John Sullivan handed Kris the baton for the Velveteen Rabbit, and she’s waved it a lot ever since. Notable shows for which she has been music director include The Hobbit, The Wizard of Oz, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Mary Poppins, Newsies, and The Reluctant Dragon. Kris is an elementary music teacher in the Mashpee Schools. When not teaching, you’ll find her running ninja warrior obstacle courses with her son, Isaac. Choreographer
Brooke Styche
Brooke Styche grew up dancing on Cape Cod and is a Barnstable alum. After graduating from Trinity College with a major in Theater and Dance, she ran a local dance studio. Missing academics and literature, she continued her post-grad work with an MAT and is now in her 22nd year of teaching English at BHS. Never wanting to stop choreographing--one of her passions--she choreographed many musicals for Sandwich High School (where she began her career as an educator) including Grease, High School Musical, Bye Bye Birdie, Guys and Dolls, The Wiz, and The Sound of Music. She then started choreographing for BHSDC with She Loves Me, Shrek, Mary Poppins, Newsies, Mean Girls, and The Little Mermaid. This year, Mamma Mia! has been such a wonderful experience! She hopes that all of the students in the show know that she is so proud of their hard work and dedication to the process. She thanks them for trusting her (even when the movements might feel silly or strange) and she can’t wait to see them share their joy with the audience!

Björn Ulvaeus & Benny Anderson

Björn Ulvaeus was born on 25 April 25, 1945 in Gothenburg. When he was six years old, the family moved to the small town of Västervik, and this is where Björn grew up. In the mid-Fifties, Björn fell in love with rock’n’roll and skif e. By the early Sixties, he was a member of a folk group called the West Bay Singers. 1963 The group entered a talent contest arranged by Swedish radio. This led to discovery by songwriter and publisher Stig Anderson and his partner, Bengt Bernhag. Stig and Bengt had recently started a record company called Polar Music. The band acquired a new name, the Hootenanny Singers, and quickly became one of Sweden’s most popular groups of the Sixties. 1966 Björn had a chance meeting with Benny Andersson, himself a member of Sweden’s number-one pop group, The Hep Stars. They hit it off and wrote their rst song together, ‘Isn’t It Easy to Say’. Björn recorded a couple of solo singles in the late Sixties, at which point he also started concentrating more on his collaboration with Benny Andersson. 1970 Björn and Benny started releasing records as a duo and also staged a cabaret show together with their fiancées, Agnetha Fältskog and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. 1971 Björn and Agnetha married on 6 July.

1972-82 ABBA.

1995 The resulting musical, Kristina från Duvemåla (Kristina from Duvemåla), opened in October. The show ran for three and a half years at various theatres in the Swedish cities of Malmö, Gothenburg and Stockholm. Björn and Benny’s most recent musical is Hjälp sökes (Help Wanted), a collaboration with playwright Kristina Lugn and Kristina director Lars Rudolfsson. Björn writes many of the lyrics for the Benny Andersson Orchestra, and has involved himself in the stagings of MAMMA MIA!.

the music to Kristina från Duvemåla, which premiered in October 1995.

1995 Benny received the title of professor from

the Swedish government.

2001 His collaboration with Orsa Spelmän led to the formation of Benny Andersson’s Orchestra, a 16-man constellation with vocalists Helen Sjöholm and Tommy Körberg. Thus far, this has resulted in seven CD albums and several summer tours.

2007 Benny was inducted in to the Royal Swedish Academy of Music.

2008 He was appointed Honorary Doctor of the College of Humanities at Stockholm University, and at Luleå University of Technology in 2012.
