Coming Out for Christmas by Carlin Thomas Cast

Makenna Cunningham (JENNA/JAYLA)
Makenna, a young performer who loves the stage, is so excited to begin exploring her career in acting. She is currently taking acting classes at Mesa Community College and is loving it. During junior high/highschool, she studied and performed Shakespeare for 6 years. Excited to be back on stage after graduating, this is her first straight play beyond the works of Shakespeare, and she has loved exploring new characters and dialogue. Her favorite role from her previous shows is Viola/Cesario in Twelfth Night. Grateful for this opportunity to portray Jenna/Jayla, Makenna cheers on and admires the amazing cast and crew who she has loved getting to know and work with. This play has brought back memories of one of her favorite novels, Divergent, written by Veronica Roth. This book contains some of the same thrilling adventures that her character Jayla faces. Her favorite quote from the book is, "Becoming fearless isn’t the point. That’s impossible. It’s learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it.” She wishes the audience will feel free from their fears as they take this journey alongside Jenna as she overcomes one of her fears, and becomes free and accepted.
Teru Sanchez (BRIT/BRETT)
Just a silly little guy that likes anime and games. Out and proud gender fluid person who likes to encourage others in the LGBTQ+ community to feel proud and accepted about who they are. They are grateful to be performing with B3 after not performing for some time, they are excited to dive back in.
Angel Sicairos (VANESSA/VIXEN)
Angel is thrilled to be performing with B3 and has had a great time during the rehearsal period. She admires and appreciates the dedication and commitment everyone has had during this process and a special thank you to Ilana and Monika to the long nights you two have spent with us. Enjoy our gay little story!
Carolyn Woodville (ALPHA and SOUL READER)
Goth, witch, anime, theater kid, brownies. She’s weird. She’s a weirdo. She doesn’t fit in. She doesn’t want to fit in. She definitely does not know the epic highs and lows of high school football. Carolyn has a wide range of experience in everything from voice work to Rocky Horror shadow cast performances but it's been a long time since she’s run in heels so don’t ask.
Erin Buvala Benites (LIZ)
"Erin, a seasoned performer with over 40 years in the arts, surprises many with her introverted nature in daily life. Studying performance at Phoenix College in the '90s and more recently with NYU-TISCH and Beth Morrison Projects Producer's Academy, she currently directs the Virtual Theater Lab, championing marginalized voices in Arizona's experimental theatre scene. Before the pandemic, Erin dazzled in Constellation Cabaret at the Sic Sense Theatre. Throughout the COVID-TIMES, she embraced virtual productions. Thrilled to return to the live stage in 2023, she joyfully embodies new characters and anticipates a happy 2024 onstage. Grateful to B3 for the chance to portray Liz, Erin applauds the wonderful cast and crew, and thanks family and friends for their support. As a holiday tradition, she looks forward to making Sun Cake for Solstice, sharing the festive spirit with a love for Christmas almost as profound as Liz's. Wishing all a holiday season brimming with joy!
