Matilda Jr. Cast

Isla is 9-years-old and a fourth-grader at South Hillsborough Elementary School. Isla is thrilled to play her dream role of Matilda! Her journey into the world of performing arts began at the age of four at WSPA. At the age of six, she proudly embraced WSPA's Musical Theatre and Ballet Performance Programs, and this year marks her initiation into the Tap Performance Program. With WSPA's Matilda Jr., Isla embarks on her eighth WSPA & AIMBA production, eager to enchant audiences with the magic of the stage. She extends her heartfelt gratitude to Ms. Katie, Ms. LoRee, Ms. Reina, Ms. Angela, and Ms. Malu, whose unwavering belief in her abilities has fueled her journey. Isla is poised to demonstrate that "even if you're little, you can do a lot."

Gaby, at 14 years old, is delving into her first villainous role as Trunchbull in Matilda. She's no stranger to the stage, having portrayed Davey in Newsies last year. Joining MTC in 2019, Gaby has participated in productions like Once on This Island and Singing in the Rain. Currently immersed in MTC and tap performance programs, Gaby is grateful to mentors Ms. Katie and Ms. LoRee. Additionally, Gaby takes hip hop and ballet/jazz classes at WSPA. Embracing the challenge of embodying the antagonist, she's eager to bring depth to Trunchbull's character, proving that even the toughest roles hold their own allure.

Sayuri is fifteen years old and has participated in MTC for seven years. She adores the arts, participating in drawing, writing, singing, and other activities. Her passion continues into her schooling as she hopes to become an actress. She is thrilled to be performing as Ms.Trunchbull and special ensemble in the program's production of Matilda. Evelyn is 14 years old, she has been a student at WSPA since the age of 5 and performing with MTC since the age of 6. She is also in theTap Performance Program. WSPA is her second home and she loves all things dance, drama and song! Her dream one day is to perform in NYC on Broadway. Evelyn is honored to have performed in the past 7 MTC productions - and is beyond excited to play Ms. Honey in Matilda Jr., she hopes you enjoy the show!

Téa Rodriguez has been doing musical theatre for 15 years, and professionally with WSPA for 13 years. She has a dance background in classical Musical Theatre, Jazz, Tap, and Hip Hop. She works at Westlake School for the Performing Arts as a teacher for 3 musical theatre classes for kids ages 4 to 10. She would like to thank friends and family for their constant support.

Ariana is 14 years old and has been studying at WSPA since they were 5 years old, taking ballet/tap, hip hop, tap, jazz and musical theater. They joined The Musical Theater Company in 2020-21, performing in Annie as Mrs. Greer, special ensemble in Singin' in The Rain and Newsies as Wiesel and special ensemble. This year, they're taking on the role of Mr. Wormwood and special ensemble in Matilda. Ariana fell in love with musical theater when they watched Wicked in New York at seven years old. Thank you for your support and enjoy the show! Ariana is dedicating their performance in memory of their dog, Louis.

Mia Sixto is a 15 year old and student at Westlake School for The Performing Arts and Ruth Asawa School of the Arts. She has been with MTC since 2017 and has been apart of shows like Newsies, Singin' In the Rain, Hairspray, The Wizard of Oz and now Matilda as Ms. Wormwood. She's very excited to be apart of this community and is always looking to improve.

Lizzy, at the age of 10, brings her love for chocolate cake to the stage as Bruce in Matilda. Having portrayed Romeo in Newsies last year, Lizzy's passion for performance shines through. Since joining MTC in 2019, she's immersed herself in various productions, including roles in Once on This Island and Singing in the Rain. In addition to MTC, Lizzy is dedicated to honing her skills in tap, ballet, jazz, and hip hop programs. As Bruce, she embodies the spirit of resilience, reminding us all that 'sometimes you have to be a little bit naughty' to get through life's challenges.

Leila is 11 years old and has been taking various dance classes at WSPA since she was 5. She takes Tap, Hip Hop, Ballet/Jazz in addition to Musical Theater (MTC) . Her first role with MTC was a dancing monkey in the Wizard of Oz back in 2019. Since then she's played an orphan in Annie, Pigtails in Newsies, and now she's Hortensia in Matilda. She has had the best experience growing as a performer through the years under Ms. Katie, and now Ms. LoRee as well. She is blessed to have an awesome MTC dance family and is honored to perform Matilda along side them.

Alya is a spirited 9-year-old with a passion for the stage. With her vibrant energy and mischievous charm, she is eager to embrace the role of Lavender in Matilda, her third production with her WSPA MTC family. Alya is also part of the Ballet and Tap Performance programs at WSPA, and is grateful for these avenues to nurture her talent. Alya and her friends are looking forward to your support and are gearing up to wow you with an unforgettable experience!

Madeleine is 10 years old and a 5th-grader at the Lycée Français de San Francisco. Madeleine joined WSPA when she was 3 years old and studied ballet, tap, MTC, and more. When she is not at WSPA, she enjoys playing the guitar, cooking, petting her rabbit, and planning parties. She is very excited to play Nigel this year and hopes that you enjoy our award-winning production of Matilda!

ILIANA is 12 years old and this is her 3rd year with MTC and 4th year at WSPA. She’s excited to be a part of Matilda! Just like Mrs. Phelps, Iliana enjoys reading and great stories! Iliana has taken dance since she was 4 years old and is also taking Tap and Jazz with WSPA. Her favorite musicals are Six, Beetlejuice and Meal Girls. When she’s not dancing and singing, Iliana enjoys playing clarinet and basketball for her school SF Day, who are the 2024 6th grade girls champions! “Go Phins!”

Kristina is 17 years old and has danced at Westlake School for the Performing Arts for the past 13 years. She has trained in many genres including Musical Theatre, Tap, Polynesian, Ballet, and more! This is Kristina’s seventh production with WSPA’s Musical Theatre Company and she can’t wait to hit the stage as Mrs. Phelps in this year’s production of Matilda Jr. She is honored to be training under the guidance of Ms. Katie and Ms. Loree, and she hopes you have an amazing experience and enjoy the show!

Madeleine, 11, is excited to join the cast of Matilda for her second stage production with WSPA's MTC. She is a 6th grader at Stratford Middle School and has studied dance and violin since 5. After last year's Newsies show, her interests increased in drama and music theater where she now looks for any new opportunity to perform, from Rock Band to Drama Club. The world is Madeleine's stage!

As a vibrant 12 yr old Grace is on her 6th year at WSPA with productions of Hairspray, Wizard of Oz and Newsies. She is proud to represent the Matilda musical as the Acrobat and is performing in several ensemble acts. Her passions have been singing, acting and tapping in turn receiving a 4th place at MTCA championships 2024 for her monologue as Veruca Salt. Credits to Bettina Devin and Katie Kerwin for instrumental support in both vocal and acting. Off campus School production " Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat' she is casted as a lead role.

Sofia is 13 years old. Dance has been a part of her life since the age of 2 and tap has always been her favorite style. She is a proud member of the Tap Performance Program. Sofia joined MTC last year and played the role of “Hazel” in Newsies Jr. She is honored to be part of the Matilda cast and loves her MTC family. She would like to thank her teachers, friends and family for always supporting her!

Teliyah is 13 years old and has been a student with MTC for 2 years. Previously, she has had the pleasure of performing in Newsies as Morris Delancey and is currently the Escapologist and special ensemble in Matilda. Presently, she attends classes in Acting, Vocal, Tap and Praise Dance. Matilda is one of her favorite productions and is thankful for the opportunity to grow and thrive as a performer. Teliyah dedicates all her success in memory of her Grandfather Walter who instilled in her to never give up on her dreams! Enjoy the show!

Sydney is 12 years old and has been dancing at WSPA for 6 years. She is part of the Tap Performance Program and this is her 4th year in MTC. She previously performed in Annie, Singing in the Rain, and Newsies. Sydney is very excited to play the role of Tommy in the musical Matilda this year and hopes you all enjoy the show!!

Alana is 9 years old and has been a student at WSPA since she was 5 years old. She started with Ballet and over the years has taken polynesian, tap, and musical theater. This is Alana’s 2nd year in MTC. This year, she will be taking on the role of Amanda. Alana is extremely grateful to have this opportunity. She is very excited for this production and truly hopes that you all enjoy the show

Tianna is 11 years old and this is her 3rd season with MTC. She has been dancing for 8 years with 6 of them for WSPA. She loves the story of Matilda and is excited to be a part of this production playing Alice. She is a 5th grader at Highlands Christian School. When not dancing or signing, she can be found making up her own stories or playing Roblox. She is grateful to have this role and hopes you will enjoy the show!

Aviana is 12 years old and this is her 2nd year with MTC/WSPA. She is excited to be apart of the Matilda production as Rudolpho! Aviana began dancing at age 4. She enjoys WSPA tap and jazz as well as MTC. Aviana fell in love with theatre after watching Lion King in NYC. She is also a talented artist and learned to speak Korean at age 5. She attends Alta Vista School where she is actively involved in drama club and is going to be the lead role, Gabriella, in their production of High School Musical.

Asiya is 11 years old and has been dancing since she was 3. She has been at WSPA since the age of 5 performing Hip Hop, Polynesian and now has added Tap and Jazz. This is her second production with MTC under the leadership of Ms. Katie and Ms. Loree. She is excited and grateful to play the role of Eric and hopes you enjoy the show as much as does!
