About Our Town
Divided into three acts, this drama observes the residents of Grover’s Corners through the cycle of life, from childhood, marriage, and death… This begs the question: how often do you pause… and look around… and breathe the air… and feel the moment… and acknowledge your existence..?
Together, the Advanced Drama class has truly committed to the theme of Our Town, bonding among our heartfelt moments, joys, and suffering…
Come see "OUR TOWN" by Thorton Wilder at the ACHS Theatre on November 14th, 15th, 16th, or 17th to experience this touching story that will reshape the way you think about yourself, life, and the people you love…
"Our Town" is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French, Inc. www.concordtheatricals.com
ACHS Theatre Arts
ACHS Theatre Arts is a growing, passionate group of students in Drama 1, 2, Advanced Drama and participating in after-school productions. As well as our newest course, Musical Theatre, in which students learn and prepare for the annual Spring Musical. We are proud to present two full-length shows every year as well as "Winter One-Acts" in January. Theatre is unique in that it is the most authentic project-based learning possible. Students collaborate to bring a show to life and then present it to friends, peers, and community members.
We encourage all ACHS students to join the Theater Arts department by taking Drama 1 or 2, or auditioning for Advanced Drama, or joining the American Canyon Drama Club. There are many opportunities to participate in theatre, either onstage or behind the scenes. Experience is not required! All are welcome to experience the spirit, dedication, and talent of American Canyon High School's theatre family.
Our goal this year is to stretch beyond ourselves in all we do. Growth in acting skills, technical aspects, and parent support is our next steps. We hope you will join us on our learning journey as we delve into classics, contemporary, and playwriting skills. You may be surprised to discover that you actually enjoy it!
Your support is vital to our Theatre Arts family so we can continue to offer high-quality productions and learning year after year. We urge you to attend as many performances as possible and support our fundraising activities as well.
