Twelfth Night Creative

Costume & Make-Up
Lidy Ambriz
I am in 11th grade and a costumer. I love the creative process that goes behind each play. In this production I especially love the 80’s theme, it was an interesting task from the costuming and makeup standpoint. My favorite 80’s song is “Eyes Without a Face” by Billy Idol. This adaptation of Shakespeare's play was definitely very fun and going to be interesting for the viewer.

When I was in high school, I saw an amazing production of Twelfth Night. Ever since, it has been my favorite Shakespearean comedy. It has been my goal to bring it to the stage for years. I am really grateful for this talented bunch of kids that are allowing me to check this off my bucket. My theatre twin is probably TJ but only if he was in a wig, a fat suit and had fluff glued to his face. When I am not at rehearsal, I can be found at home, growing my hair longer.

I have loved being theatre troupe president as I love theatre and the people in it. I have won CETA awards and a DTASC finalist and semi-finalist. To survive a shipwreck, I would bring a radio, I would say a spare ship but I feel like that is unfair. If I could say any one in the cast or crew would be my twin it would be Hannah Jindra.

I’m a Junior, and my role in theater is being a costumer. I mainly worked on Sir Toby’s wardrobe. I’m very happy with how the costume turned out, especially Sir Toby’s jacket. My favorite time period is the 70s disco, so this 80s rock production was unique and out of my comfort zone.

I am a Senior. I enjoy the fun loving environment of theatre and the endless room for growth in whatever area interests me. I have been awarded DTASC Finalist, 5th Place DTASC Award for Juliet, CETA Acting Award, and I am a Thespian Board Member. If I were ever in a shipwreck, I would survive by bringing a spare boat.

I have been working on the costumes of Twelfth Night’s Viola and Sebastian. I really enjoyed working on the costumes for this show even though it was a bit stressful and frustrating at times. I enjoy seeing the shows from backstage and watching the characters come to life. I also enjoy watching how the clothes all come together because they look really cool.
Light Head

Lighting has been very positive for this performance. Fortunately, programming hasn’t been too difficult, and I feel like it's been more of a team effort this time around, as we have all pitched in an idea or two of how each scene should look based on the setting. In fact, I think theater in general has gotten a lot more teamwork based since last year, which is definitely nice. To survive a shipwreck, I would definitely use a lifeboat. Can’t think of a single item that would give me more of a chance of survival other than like… an airplane, but I don’t think that's applicable here. I really enjoy the events of Much Ado About Nothing. The romance that takes place is very fun to watch unfold. Logan Fogle could be my twin. That is all.

I have won the 2022 CETA Adjudicator's Award for lighting. My favorite Shakespeare play is the tragedy, Othello. The best 80’s rock song is “Overkill” by Men at Work.
