Twelfth Night Cast

Ayman Al Jarjis (Orsino)
Getting the chance to have tons of classic songs play throughout the show, to even singing in a deep voice in “Somebody to Love” by Queen has got to be one of my biggest highlights from rehearsals, though I’d have to say that Antony and Cleopatra might be one of my all-time favorite Shakespeare plays, a little more than Twelfth Night. Regardless of that, if I had to suddenly survive a shipwreck, instead of bringing another boat like the rest, I would just use the sheer essence of Steve Irwin to live. Lastly, out of everyone from the cast, Cayman is definitely my long-lost twin, we even look completely identical, so it’s surprising that people can actually tell us apart!
Fallon Arave (Olivia)
I am a senior who has been in theatre since sophomore year. I love theatre because it gives me a place where I can be totally silly, while sending positive messages in the plays I act in. This play in particular has been really fun because it is so silly. It’s also a very rewarding challenge to act in a play. I am a 2x DTASC Finalist and CETA Outstanding Performance Award winner. One thing that I would use to survive a shipwreck is a phone in a ziploc bag to call the Coast Guard so they can come save me. My favorite decade is probably the 50’s. My favorite 80’s rock song is “Shout at the Devi”l by Motley Crue. My favorite Shakespeare play is Much Ado about Nothing. Lastly, if I had a twin in the cast it would be Dara, not because of looks but because we are so like-minded.
Juliet Armendariz (Officer )
My favorite Shakespeare play is definitely Othello, I loved reading it in Mr. McDonald’s class. My senior year, I spontaneously decided to join theatre and it has been so fun. I’ve really enjoyed being in DTASC and going to CETA. Theatre is such a welcoming place and I love ending my school day with it. I’m happy I get to experience the excitement of a performance on my 18th birthday!
Dara Bailey (Malvolio)
I am a senior and I am playing the role of Malvolio. My all time favorite Shakespeare play would have to be Much Ado about Nothing. The best 80s song–it's not rock–but “Break my Stride” by Mathew Wilder. I want to thank my mom, my dad, and my brother for always supporting me and coming to all my shows.
McKayla “Sarinya” Binette  (Officer)
I’m a sophomore and I play the role of 1st Officer. Being a part of theatre has given me, and many others, a class dynamic that doesn't really happen in other classes. Since we are constantly working with each other, we are able to become closer versus doing a project in other classes and not talking to them after. My favorite Shakespeare play is probably The Taming of the Shrew… mainly because of 10 Things I Hate About You. My favorite decade is definitely the 2000s–the drama, the shows, the fashion, the music, everything about it was just so iconic. ENHYPEN outsold. :)
Abigail Brady (Sir Andrew Aguecheek)
I’m a sophomore who plays the role of Andrew Aguecheeck. My motto is “You can’t spell possible without impossible!” I would survive a shipwreck by riding an Irrawaddy dolphin into the sunset while the Indiana Jones theme song played and my hair flowed in the wind. A Midsummer Night's Dream is THE best Shakespeare play specifically the character Puck, trust me bro! My twin in theatre is Joshua Brady, we even share the same last name… teehee.
Katelyn Brock (Ensemble)
Hi! I'm a Freshman in high school, and I have a role in the Ensemble! I have really enjoyed being a part of this production and I think everybody, interested in theatre or not, should try it out! The people are amazing and you make so many memories! A few things about me are that; my favorite decade is the 2010’s, my favorite 80’s rock song is “Another One Bites The Dust” by Queen, and my favorite Shakespeare play is Romeo & Juliet!
Cayman Crayton (Sir Toby Belch)
I am in 11th grade – my junior year – and I play Sir Toby Belch in Twelfth Night. The fight scenes in Twelfth Night are so awesome! Theatre is such a great place to learn more about yourself and really be free. We’re like a family here! My favorite decades are the late 1900s and early 2000s.
Alyssa George (Maria)
Hey! I am in 11th grade. I play Maria in our play, Twelfth Night. Throughout my time working in theatre I have grown so much as a person. These wonderful people have given me so much and I hope to help change other lives, like mine. In our show, I have gotten to work alongside the most talented, kindest, hilarious, and most outgoing people I’ve ever met. I am so excited to show you our hard work and I hope you guys love the show as much as I have.
Trent “TJ” Gifford (Ensemble)
I’m in 11th grade. Best 80’s rock song? “Peace Sells" by Megadeth; 80’s thrash metal hits different. The best decade was the 90s; they had Zoboomafoo, and the 90s spawned some of the best music of all time. What one thing would you use to survive a shipwreck? If I was in a shipwreck and could bring one item, I'd bring another boat. Duhhhh.
Camila Gutierrez (Ensemble)
I’m in 9th grade. Something positive about this production was getting to know new people and working with them. When working with a shipwreck in a play, you tend to realize what you would bring to a wreck to survive. Personally, I would bring a pink flamingo floaty and some delicious food. One of my favorite decades would have to be the 60’s. One of my favorite things about it might just be the music overall. Speaking of music, I would argue that “Dancing Queen is one of my favorite 80’s rock songs. But if someone in the crew that would be my twin, it would be Tiffany!
Sammi Hoggan (Viola (Cesario))
I have never been in a Shakespeare play before, so this one was an awesome opportunity to test the waters and see how I like it! I also adore 80s music, rock specifically, so getting to be in a production with so many of the most iconic songs is so much fun!! I think being in theater is so great because no matter what role you play (pun intended), you feel like you’re part of a family! I have participated in DTASC three times, making it to finals all three times!! And once, our group got 2nd overall! If I was in a shipwreck the one thing I would use would be an additional, fully-functioning boat. I think that would increase my chance of survival by a considerable amount. My favorite Shakespeare play is probably Much Ado About Nothing because it makes me giggle! My favorite decade is for sure the 80s! The BEST 80s rock band is Motley Crue, but I am currently going through a Cinderella phase and the song “Nobody’s Fool” gets me singing every time!
Kyra Hortman (Sebastian)
Something I love about theatre is that when I am on the stage, I forget about the random things I am constantly stressing about and just have to focus on making people laugh at the dumb things I’m saying/doing. As someone who LOVES rock music, I would have to say my favorite 80’s rock song is “One” by Metallica and yes, it is on my Spotify repeat playlist! Aesthetically speaking, the ’50s is my favorite decade. I love the outfits, and how it’s romanticized on the internet, and I love, love Marilyn Monroe.
Jordan Israelson (Fabian)
I’m Naida Israelson, aka Jordan. My favorite part of 12th Night has been getting to be silly and wild and drunk the entire play. The rehearsals have been super fun, especially when we work on fight scenes. I love theater in general because I get to hang out with old friends, make new ones, and work together to make productions. The awards I have received for various thespian activities are 2nd Place - Fall JV DTASC 2021, 2nd Place - Spring Shakespeare JV DTASC 2022, Honorable Mention - Fall DTASC 2022, 2021CETA Certificate of Achievement for Peter and the Starcatcher, and 2022 CETA Directors Choice Award for Gulls. My favorite Shakespeare play is either Much Ado about Nothing or As You Like It, and my favorite 80’s rock song is “Gimme a Kiss” by Def Leppard.
Hannah Jindra (Feste)
I am a junior. I have been lucky enough to get recognition from CETA for Peter and the Starcatcher, be a DTASC honorable mention and two time DTASC finalist, and most recently have been given Director’s Choice award for Norse Mythology Ragnasplosion. My favorite Shakespeare play is, and will forever be, King John. My favorite 80’s rock song is “Livin’ On A Prayer” by Bon Jovi. I grew up with a Bon Jovi CD, so I am so happy I get to sing a bit of that song in this show.
Declan Kallberg (Priest)
I am ecstatic to play the Priest in this production! I am a sophomore here at Western Center Academy. I am also a two-time winner of the annual California Young Playwrights Contest with my plays Dub Thee Fear and Boxed In. I’m really excited about this production because I am passionate about Shakespeare and believe deeply in its ability to positively impact young people, and I find doing a Shakespeare production in a modern setting makes it more accessible.
Ryan Lawrence (Valentine)
I am a senior and played Valentine in this production. Out of everything thats happened, my favorite part of this production definitely has to be the choreography of this production. I loved learning it and it was a great experience. I love theater because it always has a positive atmosphere and there is always room for creativity. In terms of awards, for acting, I have been a semifinalist and finalist in Varsity DTASC. For directing, I have been a trophy winner five times and finalist twice for Junior Varsity DTASC. In March, I will also earn my Honors Thespian patch. Theater has changed my life for the better. I have been in acting ever since I’ve been in elementary school and I am now pursuing it in college at California State University - Fullerton. Since this is my last production here at WCA, I wish broken legs to those I’m leaving behind here. I will be here to see the future productions here. I will miss you all so much!
Morgan Munnell (Curio)
Hi! I’m a sophomore. My favorite decade is the 80s, because they have the best music that gives me the best vibes, and it’s fun to sing to, which is why I loved the idea of combining 80s music and Shakespeare. This play is about twin siblings, and if I had a twin, I think it would be Sadee Packham, because everyone always gets us confused for one another. I’m so glad I am apart of this theatre family, and that we get to do something we love, to create something other people will love too!
Sadee Packham (Antonia)
I’m a Sophomore, and I play Antonia in this production! This production has been awesome because we’ve been able to learn to sing all of these great 80’s songs. My favorite Shakespeare play is Much Ado About Nothing. If anyone in the cast would be my twin, it would be Morgan Munnell.
Adriana Ordaz (Ensemble)
I’ve really liked doing the choreography. It was fun to watch everyone be in character all day, and watching rehearsals when my sibling is staying after school is really cool.I love doing the actual acting! It’s really fun to get to see what we’re doing in things like DTASC where my friends and I earned 5th place. If I was stranded on a desert island I would want life boats! If there are no lifeboats? A life jacket.
Tiffany Renteria (Lady in Waiting)
I have really enjoyed rehearsing for this play because of the fun memories I’ve made with my classmates. The music was my favorite part in being in this production. I fully enjoyed singing and loved the music in the play. During thiI’ve learned two very significant things, the first was in drama, learning how connect, relate, and fully understand your character/role that you’re playing. In comedy I have learned that you must be yourself and be silly. Overall, it has being a pleasure and one of a kind experience to be in theater with a supportive teacher and peers.
Alonineayh “Loni” Katara Robinson (Sea Captain)
My name is Alonineayh Katara Robinson, but everyone calls me Loni! I am currently in the 10th grade. In this production, I play the Sea Captain and a part of the ensemble. For me, something positive about this production is that I get to have fun with one of my closest friends before he leaves for college. I think that something positive about theatre in general is that I get to learn new methods to express myself and my creativity. I am so grateful to perform shows with people who I consider a second family and who bring others joy through theatre. I would use an emergency raft to survive a shipwreck, and I would make sure that I have cellular data on my phone so I can call for help. My favorite Shakespeare play is Othello. My favorite decade is the mid 90’s to the mid 2000’s because I loved the movies and the music. The best 80’s rock songs I know would be between “Somebody’s Watching Me" by Rockwell and “Sweet Child O’ Mine" by Guns N’ Roses. Out of everyone in the cast, my twin would be Ryan Lawrence!
Emma Wright (Ensemble)
I am in the 9th Grade and am in the Twelfth Night Ensemble. I love theatre because it really gives me an amazing outlet to express myself and my own creativity and have so much fun working along others in theatre to put together a great show. My own personal favorite Shakespeare play has got to be King Lear. I actually got to act in a modified version of it for kids in the 5th grade and ended up getting the lead, so that was pretty cool. My favorite decade is the ‘50s because I just think the whole style was cool and it seems like it would just be like a nice, feel good type decade. The best 80’s rock song is “Sweet Child O’ Mine” by Gun N’ Roses. I would say that in the cast, my twin would probably be Hannah Jindra.
