The Academy of Film, Television, Stage and Performing Arts (AFTSPA.org) is a 501c3 ‘not -for-profit,' ‘tax exempt’ enterprise offering instruction in the 'Modern Meisner Acting Method' ("3M Technique"). Formed and incorporated in March  of 2010, it offers the 'basic Meisner training,' which has launched the careers of many industry 'titans' and augmented it for the demands of a new era. It has been recognized as the foundation of the careers of Steve McQueen, Robert Duvall, Diane Keaton, Gregory Peck, Allison Janney, Jeff Goldblum, Sydney Pollack, David Mamet, Mackenzie Davis and hundreds more over the past century. It is now being offered in Orange County in the beautiful Hudson Valley, about an hour car ride from NYC.  

Neighborhood Playhouse (where the method was created by Sanford Meisner) graduate, David Patrick Wilson (Class of '71) has starred in, written, produced directed and been featured in dozens of Films, TV shows, Plays, Musicals, Revues and Commercials all over the World. He has worked at or been courted by virtually every major studio (MGM, Universal, Paramount, Sony, Fox), the major networks (ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX) in the U.S. and abroad. During the last 50 plus years, he has worked with most of the big talent agencies (CAA, ICM, WME, Paradigm, etc.) as an actor, coach and content creator.  

He was trained directly by the 'Masters' of this technique, themselves (Sanford Meisner & William Esper).  

Throughout the last half-century, as he has been working in the industry, he has witnessed ALL of the changes and technological advancements that have occurred. He has seen how the ‘actor’ must adapt to these influences and what is required to prepare the ‘modern actor’ to utilize them to their greatest potential. Therefore, he has adapted the Meisner Method to incorporate many new elements such as AI, CGI and more.  

Finally, his work in ‘transformational ontology’ over the past three decades has given him a deep understanding of the emotional underpinnings of the actor and the characters they portray, bringing added weight to his work. Subsequently, he is reshaping ‘the method’ with his teaching of the "3M Technique" courses. This latest 'evolution' is for those individuals looking to acquire the 'best' tools and techniques to establish a career and capitalize on, "America's greatest and fastest growing commercial export."
