WEKIVA RIVER PLAYERS COMMUNITY THEATRE

Wekiva River Players is Seminole County's longest-running theater ensemble, performing continuously since 1993.

From its beginnings, WRP has served the community, not just providing theatrical entertainment, education and opportunities, but also giving back creatively to support important local causes through donations of time, money and talent.

We are confident that with a great deal of hard work, combined with support from the community, we will continue to provide Central Florida with education, opportunities, and most importantly, theatrical entertainment that is second to none.

Why WRP?

Sheryl A.:

When my son, Richard, was in the 3rd grade a friend strongly encouraged me to sign him up with Wekiva River Players. My son loved performing and was hooked. It was never a question of signing up again. I saw Richard’s confidence improve year after year, as did his love for performing. By High School he was not only continuing to perform with WRP, but had branched to high school theater and other community theaters in the area. Junior year of High School he announced theatre was what he wanted to do for the rest of his life. He got a spot in one of the top University theatre programs in the country! One month after graduation with his BFA, he moved to NYC and snagged a performing job with a group called Bachelors of Broadway and has even had callbacks for Broadway shows!

WRP gave him the skills, the confidence, and the passion he has for theater and performing in general. He was with them from 3rd grade through HS graduation. The environment was supportive and educational. Thank you WRP for being such an important part in shaping who my son became.

Johnna M.:

We found WRP a few years ago and we are so happy that we did. The directors and teaching staff are great with the kids. It's really clear they care about them and the kids always have fun. It is a great confidence builder for kids of all ages and skill levels. The performances are top notch, as well.

Our first year one of the board members said, "this is really like a family", and at that moment I didn't buy it but 3 years in, I can't imagine life without our WRP family.

Angela M.:

What a fantastic opportunity for my daughter. I just want to thank you for seeing in her the potential. Thank you for believing in her. She is literally 10 feet tall and her sails are filled. She comes alive on the stage in a way I don’t see in her off the stage."
