Our Mission:

Truckee Tahoe Theatre Company (Truckee Community Theater) Our mission is to provide community members of all ages with an inclusive space to engage in high quality performing arts, inspire creativity, and bring our community together to experience the transformative magic of live theater.

The Importance of Community Driven Theater:

We offer our community a powerful shared experience that only the performing arts can provide. Theater allows performers to connect intimately with their audience through the art of live storytelling, encouraging us to cultivate empathy as we laugh, cry, celebrate joy and confront some of life's hardest truths, together. This is where true community is created; through the collective experience of our common humanity. Knowing this, our creative team thoughtfully selects shows each year to inspire, delight, and transform the hearts and minds of both our performers and our audience. We hope that you will join us and experience the magic for yourself!

We are dedicated to providing performing arts education that promotes life-long learning through stage productions, workshops, camps and classes. Along with incredible community partners, we offer comprehensive training in all aspects of the dramatic arts, including acting, directing, voice, dance, theater etiquette, stage management, costume design, set design, lighting and sound design, and production management. It is important to us that our programming is accessible to all. We provide scholarships to youth in need, ensuring that every child whose eyes light up for the stage has an opportunity to perform. Our community is limited in its access to the dramatic arts, and at TTTC we feel strongly that every child deserves the opportunity to explore this creative art form. Theater builds our capacity to experience empathy, understand the perspectives of others, teaches effective communication skills, active listening, and public speaking skills to name a few, all of which set our youth up for success in all aspects of their lives.
