Zig Youth: Disney's Newsies Jr. Cast

I love dancing, singing, dressing up as and playing as a character, and the fun you can have on stage. And what better way to do that than performing in a theater like the Zig?!

I like the theater because it is a great place to be. A lot of the people I have met here have been really kind and inclusive. It is really nice that I get to be with people who enjoy singing and acting like I do. I’ve made so many wonderful friends here. Some of my favorite roles have been Ben in Descendants, Sebastian in Little Mermaid jr., and Kurt Von Trapp in The Sound of Music.

I love theater because it gives me the chance to bring a story to life while working with other people. I can be Smee, Kuzco, an Addams Family Ancestor, Snyder, or really anything while on stage and just have fun with it.

I love theater because it’s always fun to see and act out my dream of being an actor in real life! I love Zig and love watching how they put such a good show together!

I love theater because it gives me the chance to practice acting and portraying someone else. I love playing off of other characters and having fun with my friends.

Theater gives me a chance to be a part of something bigger and to immerse myself in the stories that I have grown to love.

Newsies will be Guy's 7th show with Ziegfeld. Some of his favorite roles include Buddy in Elf Jr, and the Escapologist in Matilda. He looks forward to bringing life to the white collar villain of Pulizter in Newsies. Guy loves the friendships he's made in theater, and looks forward to many more!

Sammi discovered her passion for dance when she was 3 years old and has been dancing ever since. She has enjoyed being in many Ziegfeld Homeschool shows, including performing as the Magic Carpet in Aladdin Jr, Charlotte Dennon in Elf Jr, and is looking forward to her role as Star-to-Be in Annie Jr this December. She loves all things performing arts, including friendship and comradery within the cast, and is excited to perform all the songs and dances in Newsies!

I have loved theater since I was little. As a little girl, my mom often took me to plays. I would love going with my mom, as I sat there I dreamt of being the one on the stage. They always looked like they were having a good time! It is true theater is a good time. Thanks mom!

I love theater because of all of the amazing people that create such a fun and welcoming environment, and I get to work on skill while doing something I love.

I love theater because of every adventure I get to experience and new valuable lessons I learn from them. I’ve had my ups and downs when it comes to performing and being an actress, yet no matter how many shows I do, no two are alike. Meeting new people and spending time with those I know making wonderful memories will always be my favorite part. Singing, dancing, and acting make me feel alive and happy. I can be myself no matter what anyone else thinks or feels. This is why I love theater!

It also makes people feel so many different emotions and feelings that it always has had a special place in my heart. There is really nothing else like it, and watching these things live is a life changing experience you can't forget. Watching a show like this live, will be inspiring, emotional, and most importantly powerful for the people who go through the journey the characters do and understand the meaning of it all.

I love theater because it helps me make connections that I would not be able to do otherwise. The people you meet, the memories you make, and the fun you have; I wouldn't trade it for the world.

I love theater because it’s always been apart of my life! My mom did theater when she was younger, and I’ve done theater ever since I was 4! Theater is always just so fun, I’ve gained so many friends out of it, and it’s always welcoming to everyone!

Eli loves theater thanks to Seth (his older brother), he got Eli into it last year when we he forcefully made him do Addams Family, and the rest is history, he quite likes it now, other roles Eli has played at the Zig are Mal in Addams, Prince Christopher In Cinderella, and the narrator in Into the Woods, and now Crutchie in this show you are watching….he hopes it is alright! Other things Eli enjoys doing are breaking kids ankles on the basketball court, making fun of his friends, and lifting heavy weights. Paige Mulkey is so excited to be on stage at the Zig. She loves being with all of her friends! Her first show was in Virginia and since moving to Utah she has been in several shows in the area. Her favorite show was Cinderella

Isabella has been involved in theater for all her life and has loved meeting new people! She has been in many different types of productions and has loved all the memories made on and off stage!

I love theater! I have been doing shows here since I was 4, and my love for this theater just grows each show I do. I can really be myself here, and the friends that I have here make me really happy. I don’t know what I would do without the Zig.

I love theater because it is my second home. You can always rely on people there. Another reason why I love theater because I feel like I can be myself around everyone there. You can always go to rehearsals and expect people to run up and hug you or either shout your name. I have met so much amazing people there that I could never find anywhere else. Theater is my safe space to get away from outside things. Everyone is so kind and welcoming. The last thing I love about theater is that i’m doing everything that I love to do. Dance, act, and sing. It’s a place where you can do all.

The Zig is like my second home and I have loved all the opportunities I have been given here and I love being with my amazing and talented friends! Some of my favorite roles have been Sir Robin (Spamalot), Rafiki (Lion King), Jan (Grease), Cinderella (Cinderella), and Little Red (Into the Woods).

I really like doing theater at Ziegfeld. I love all the directors and I’ve made so many friends.

I love Theater because of all of my amazing friends and cast members. I also love Theater because of the feeling I get when Im on stage that is like no other. Newsies is my favorite musical and im so happy to preform it again. Newsies Forever!

Why do I like theater? To be honest, I'm not even supposed to be here, I just wandered in here and they thought I was supposed to be in the show. It's alright though, they gave us cookies once.

I love theater because it gets me out of my comfort zone. I’ve learned how to tap dance for this show and it’s been a lot of fun. I’ve made so many new friends and we always have so much fun at rehearsals.
