Romeo and Juliet Cast

Emma Perman is ecstatic to be appearing in her first Shakespearean production with the Youth Shakespeare Society of Pittsburgh. Past credits include The 25 th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Ensemble), Footloose Jr. (Vi Moore), and The Little Mermaid Jr. (Ariel). Emma sends her love and gratitude to Mom, Dad, Jeff, Stevie, Sean, and all her incredible friends and teachers along the way. Enjoy the Show!

This is Madeline’s second production with YSSP, and she couldn’t be more excited to take the stage as one of Shakespeare’s most iconic characters! She has appeared in the Pittsburgh CLO’s main stage productions of Grease, Mary Poppins, and the 75th Anniversary Broadway Musical Celebration, numerous Point Park University student films, YSSP’s Twelfth Night (Olivia), and multiple feature films. Last year, she was an Upper Division Finalist in the Pittsburgh Shakespeare Monologue and Scene Contest. Much love, and enjoy the show!

Ella Mizera is a junior at the University of Pittsburgh, where she studies theater and nonprofit management. She is co-founder and executive director of YSSP. Mostly recently, she worked on City Theatre’s The Wanderers (sound engineer) and In Print (stage manager). Upcoming: Ophelia (Hamlet, Play on Words Podcast). When she’s not performing, Ella teaches Shakespeare with Steel City Shakespeare Center, and when she’s not teaching Shakespeare, she’s probably thinking about her dog.

Parker Stephens (Lord Capulet) is excited to be working with Youth Shakespeare Society of Pittsburgh’s production of Romeo and Juliet! His recent credits include “The Drag Seed” (Carson Lingus) with University of Pittsburgh Stages and “Mamma Mia” (Pepper) with Pitt’s Musical Theatre Club. Parker graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in the spring of 2022 with a degree in Theatre Arts. When not on stage, you can find him working as a lighting and scenic technician with Kelly Strayhorn Theatre, Point Park University, and Hughie’s Event Production company. He hopes you enjoy the show!

Sarah is a junior at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School where they study theater. They’ve been apart of Lincoln Parks One Act Festival in 2020 and 2022. Past tech credits include Mathilda the Musical and The Nutcracker. They’ve also been an asm for Disney’s Decedents. Recently they’ve been getting into film acting and has already done 3 short films. They enjoy writing, painting, and reading in their spare time.

Felicia Perez (Paris / Chorus) wrote and directed her first school play at 7 years old; thanks to the kindness of an unsuspecting substitute teacher. Since then, she has performed in Seussical, Aida, and Oliver! with Paragon Studios. Under the guidance of Act One Theatre School she has acted in Narnia and Annie. She has been interested in Shakespeare since 6th grade, and did her first workshop with Steel City Shakespeare around that same time. That was the beginning of a long lasting love for Shakespeare plays. Since then, she has done many scenes with Steel City Shakespeare. She recently played Bottom in a school production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This is her first show with YSSP and she hopes to return for the next one!

Sam is a student at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School. He is fairly newer to performing for others, even though he goes to school for theatre. This is his first ever Shakespeare play, and is very excited to perform.
