About Imagination Express Summer Camp

Imagination Express is World Stage Theatre's one-of-a-kind arts education and outreach program that serves more than 2500 students each year through workshops, classes, in-school and after-school residencies, and free and highly sought after summer camps. Get ready to Imagine, Explore, Create and Grow. Play on a magical playground where well-known stories, themes and topics explored through Movement, Music and Monologue introduces students to role playing, creative exercises, improvisation, physical movement, breathing, vocal warm-ups, various aspects of theater and a staged showcase for family and friends. 

Camp runs Tuesday-Thursday

GRADES K-6

IMAGINATION EXPRESS Tues - Thurs 9:00am-1:30pm June 24 - July 17, 2024 (No class July 4th)

IMAGINE. EXPLORE. CREATE. GROW! All aboard the Imagination Express, a camp for young children entering the 1st grade to students entering the 6th grade that is all about exploring the arts, and the world around us through PLAY.  Space is limited.

A $25 non-refundable registration fee secures your spot for this highly anticipated four week program.

GRADES 7-12

OUR STORIES OUR VOICES Artist Bootcamp Tues - Thurs 3:30-7:30pm June 24 - July 25, 2024 (No class July 4th)

Come learn what it takes to be an artist! Learn from working artists in interdisciplinary fields while putting on an end of summer show for family and friends.  This camp is for students entering the 7th grade to high school juniors entering the 12th grade.  Class is limited to 15 students.

A $25 non-refundable registration fee secures your spot for this one-of-a-kind five week program.

All K-12 students will participate in field trips.  Lunch and snacks will be provided for K-6 and dinner and snacks for 7-12.  Register today!



 

World Stage Theatre

World StageTheatre is a professional multicultural and intergenerational producing arts organization with a grassroots community approach whose mission is to provide exploration, experience, and exposure to those interested in the performing arts while providing culturally relevant, live performances and arts education for the community.  World Stage Theatre is committed to giving opportunities to underserved and underrepresented youth and adults, making the arts accessible to all, and creating a culture where participants, and patrons alike have the freedom to imagine, explore, create, and grow. We use multidisciplinary art forms to educate, elevate, and celebrate these voices while building bridges of unity to disband isms.

Research and our K-12 arts education programs have proven to increase students' understanding not only of the arts, but of geography, math, and technology, science, and history. It cultivates creative thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills in youth and promote, self-worth, self-confidence, and social consciousness that fosters empathetic, compassionate, inquisitive, thought-provoking, hard-working young leaders who in turn thrive in school and give back to society in a meaningful way.

In addition to arts education programming which includes a national monologue competition for high school students, World Stage Theatre produces both licensed and original plays, offers artist residencies, and community events for all ages.
