Katie Mixon (Amanda Wingfield)
Katie Mixon is grateful to Workshop Theatre and Bakari Lebby for trusting her with this iconic role. Creating theatre is thrilling and often scary, but having a supportive community makes it all worth it! Katie has many passions in her life - theatre, animals, travel and learning. An Actor-Teacher for the SC Governor’s School for the Arts & Humanities, Katie is also an Actor-Manager for Elsewhere Shakespeare, a company member of The SC Shakespeare Company, and NiA member. Katie is part of the team who first brought Sappraiwan Elephant Sanctuary in Thailand to life–managing humane and enriching care for senior Asian Elephants. After graduating from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts, Katie worked with animals and students in Thailand. Some of Katie’s favorite roles have been: Sandra in The Play That Goes Wrong at Town Theatre, Polonius for Elsewhere Shakespeare, Beatrice, Lady MacBeth, & Juliet for the SCSC, Suze and 1st Grandma in Fairview at TRUSTUS. Katie was voted Best Actress in Columbia 2023.
Lamont Gleaton (Tom Wingfield)
Lamont Gleaton is a South Carolina native youngest of four, and is one who lives for the stage, he has entertained in multiple evening and day venues in the North and South Carolina, Virginia and Georgia areas. He has also participated in The Nutcracker with Columbia City Ballet; a board member for Columbia Repertory Dance Company and Workshop Theatre; the Choreographer the Miss South Carolina/ North Carolina Earth. He also contributes his MUA talents for several Vista Queen Pageants with Trustus Theatre, as well as teaching others the skills to make-up applications. He has appeared on stages at The University of South Carolina (Columbia, Aiken campus), Lander University, Columbia College, and Francis Marion University. He first appeared in The Color Purple returned for The Wedding Singer, lead role (Lola) in Kinky Boots, ensemble for A Chorus Line, and now appearing in The Glass Menagerie all with Workshop Theatre. He devotes his time and talents with different organizations in the Columbia and surrounding areas to help raise money for numerous causes, and is currently the show director of a local establishments for the Wednesday Variety, Thirsty Thursday and the Party-time Show on Saturday nights. In addition he have also been apart of the Miss South Carolina Pageant, Miss SC Plus World, Miss Cinderella, Miss U.S. Plus Intercontinental, Miss South/ North Carolina Earth USA pageant systems.
Carly Siegel (Laura Wingfield)
Carly is a recent graduate from the University of South Carolina, getting her bachelor’s in Theatre. Her credits at the university include Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged), Metamorphoses, Romeo and Juliet, Small Mouth Sounds, and Little Shop of Horrors. She would like to thank Bakari, the director, for guiding her throughout this process, the cast for welcoming her and being absolutely hilarious, and a big thank you to the crew and designers, since it isn’t a show without them. She would also like to send a thank you to family and friends for their continuous support. Lastly, she hopes you enjoy the show!
Marshall Spann (Jim O'Connor - The Gentleman Caller)
Marshall is thrilled to be back at Workshop Theatre, having last been seen on the Cottingham stage in TORCH SONG. In New York he has been seen in Hard Sparks Innovative Award winning play R&J&Z, Theatre 167’s THE WORLD’S FAIR PLAYS (NY Times Critic’s Pick). He also cowrote, coproduced, and costarred in the web series OLLIE & MOLLY CAN’T GET ARRESTED. Other credits include ROMEO AND JULIET, CRIMES OF THE HEART at PlayMakers Repertory Company, MISS BENNET‘S CHRISTMAS AT PEMBERLEY at Trustus, MACBETH and JULIUS CEASAR with the SC Shakespeare Company, ON THE MOORS NOW at USC, And OTHER DESERT CITIES, THE BOYS IN THE BAND and GOD OF CARNAGE at Workshop Theatre.
