Matilda Jr. Cast
Roxy de Ledesma (Matilda Wormwood)Roxy is so so excited to be playing Matilda this year in "Matilda Jr." She is currently an 8th grader at Woodland and this will be her last show here. She loves fashion and doing shows. Her favorite roles have been Marta from "The Sound of Music Jr.," Scarecrow from "The Wizard of Oz Jr.", Pugsley from "The Addams Family Jr.", and Chiffon from "Little Shop of Horrors."
Robert Hammond (Mr. Wormwood)Robert is an 8th grader in his first play, and is very excited (and surprised) that he got such a big role. He likes DnD, Sci-Fi, and other nerd stuff. He'd like to thank Erickson for peer pressuring him to do this, and thank Kinsley because she told him to thank her.
Alegra Denktash (Mrs. Wormwood)Alegra is an 8th grader and is so excited to do her last musical at Woodland! She's done "Willy Wonka Jr." (Ensemble), "It's a Madhouse!" (Pansy Pembroke), and is now performing with these amazing actors and actresses for the last time. She would like to thank her family, friends, Miss Newman, and all the people who came to support Woodland!
Avery Hardison (Miss Honey)Avery is an 8th grader and is thrilled to be playing Miss Honey in "Matilda!" This is her 4th show with Woodland and her 14th overall, which means she's officially spent more time in rehearsal rooms than at home-and yes, she considers that a personality trait. She is so excited to share this amazing production of "Matilda!" Avery would like to thank the incredible cast, crew and directors for making this show and joy to be in! She promises that if Miss Honey were real, everyone would receive an A, extra credit, and a note excusing them from homework!
Mikaelus Larkin (Agatha Trunchbull)Mikaelus is an 8th grader who is super excited to be in "Matilda Jr." this year. He has had one other past experience playing Mr. Salt in "Willy Wonka Jr." last year. Outside of the world of theatre, Mikaelus loves wrestling and square dancing. He wants to dedicate his performance to his family, his friends, and God.
Cooper Powers (Michael Wormwood)Cooper is an 8th grader at Woodland and is thrilled to take part in "Matilda." He was in "It’s a Madhouse!" (George) in the fall, and took part in "Newsies" at Freedom Middle School. He’s a talented artist who loves to laugh. He would like to thank his parents and the wonderful people behind the scenes for giving him this amazing opportunity!
Emily Santini (Bruce)Emily Santini is a 6th grader and is extremely excited and ready to play Bruce in "Matilda: the Musical." Just a couple of her favorite past performances include, "It’s a Madhouse!" as Drew and "Aladdin" as Rajah. When not performing on stage, she’s likely reading or playing video games. She would like to dedicate her performance to all her amazing friends and teachers! <3
Eli Wright (Nigel)Eli is in 7th grade and is super excited to play the funny and clumsy Nigel in WMS' production of "Matilda Jr." He has appeared in Woodland's productions of "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" (Witch's Follower), "Willy Wonka" (Oompa Loompa), and "It's a Madhouse!" (Hobson). He also appeared in ROOTS Academy's production of "Annie Jr." (Oliver Warbucks). He would like to thank his family and friends who support him. Enjoy the show!!! Lucy Bowen (Lavender)Lucy is a 7th grader and is very excited to be a part of "Matilda Jr." She has performed in "Matilda Jr." (Matilda), "The Wizard of Oz" (Lullaby League), and "Mary Poppins" (Ensemble). Besides theatre, Lucy loves to cheer and hang out with her friends. She would like to thank her family for their support. Enjoy the show!
Natalie Nall (Amanda)Natalie is in 6th grade and this is her first musical EVER! She is so excited to be a part of this year’s production of "Matilda"! When not on stage, she enjoys volleyball, basketball, cheer, and spending time with friends and family. Let’s get this show on the road!! Enjoy the show!!
Madeleine Tenzer (Alice)Madeleine is in 7th grade and is thrilled to be playing Alice in "Matilda!" She has previously appeared in Woodland’s productions of "It’s a Madhouse!" (Abigail) and "Willy Wonka" (Ensemble). At Roots Musical Theatre, Madeleine has loved bringing a variety of characters to life, including Lily St. Regis in "Annie," Tinker Bell in "Peter Pan," and the White Rabbit in "Alice in Wonderland." Madeleine has been dancing since she was just 18 months old and currently competes on the Roots competitive dance team. When she’s not on stage, she enjoys singing with the Woodland Choir, dancing on the Woodland Dance Team, choreographing routines, and spending time with friends. She is incredibly grateful to her family, teachers, and friends for their constant encouragement and support—and sends a special thank you to Miss Newman for another fabulous show!
Kyle Mei (Eric)Kyle is an 8th grader and is ecstatic to be part of Woodland Middle's production of "Matilda." Kyle has also been a part of "It's a Madhouse!" (Kowalski) in the past. While Kyle is not on the stage, he enjoys spending his time playing video games, going camping with his BSA Troop, swimming with his friends, and just sitting on his bed. Kyle would like to thank his director Miss Newman for making all this possible and his friends and family for encouraging him to audition.
Elise Lucas (Hortensia)Elise is an 8th grader and is really excited to be a part of "Matilda Jr." This is her 5th show at Woodland and 6th show in total. Some include "Annie" (Orphan) and "Willy Wonka" (Oompa Loompa). When she is not on stage, she loves to play sports and sing. She would like to say a big thank you to Miss Newman for putting on an amazing show for all of you to enjoy.
Mason Morgan (Tommy)Mason is a 6th grader at Woodland Middle School, and this is his 5th performance, and 2nd at Woodland. His past credits include: "The Lion King" (Ensemble), "Encanto" (Bruno), "Alice in Wonderland" (Ensemble), & "It's a Madhouse!" (Vic). When he's not on stage, he enjoys solving Rubik's cubes, golfing, singing, and working towards his black belt in martial arts. He would like to thank his parents and friends for cheering him on!
Georgie Bynum (Mrs. Phelps/Ensemble)Georgie is in 8th grade and is so excited for her final show at Woodland! She has also been in "Annie Jr." (Ensemble), "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe" (Aslan's Follower), "Willy Wonka" (Ensemble), and "It's a Madhouse!" (Myrtle). She loves a good story, so feel free to come share one with her! As long as they have ZERO cliffhangers...
John Wyrzykowski (Escapologist)John is a 6th grader and has just found interest in acting. An athlete who does both cross country and soccer, he's ready to put up his soccer cleats and running shoes for stage shoes, and he is very excited. It’s his second time in a theatrical production, his first being in last fall's "It's a Madhouse!" as Wesley. When he is not practicing his lines, you can see him running outside Crockett Park or on the fields practicing soccer.
Gabby Altknecht (Acrobat/Ensemble)Gabby is in 8th grade and is so excited to be back on the Woodland stage in "Matilda!" She participated in "Annie" during her first year at Woodland. Outside of school, Gabby is a member of CYT Nashville, and has been in 15 shows with the company. She dances at Histown Dance Studio and enjoys spending time with her friends when she's not super busy. Gabby would like to thank the directors and all the volunteers who have worked on this show, and wants to dedicate her performance to her family, friends, and God. She hopes you flip and leap for joy when you see the performance of "Matilda!"
P.J. Dovgalyuk (Rudolpho/Ensemble)PJ Dovgalyuk is a 7th grader who likes having opportunities to perform. His hobbies include chess, martial arts, and playing piano. This is his third theatre production with Woodland, having been in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," "It's a Madhouse!," and now "Matilda." He is thankful for everyone's help.
Simon Sapozhkov (Sergei/Ensemble)Simon is an 8th grader, and this is his very first theatre performance! He is absolutely joyous to be part of the "Matilda Jr." cast this year, especially since he got the role he wanted deeply; Sergei! He has quite the ecstatic yet controlled personality, matching perfectly to his roles. Enjoy his and all’s performance, folks!
Erickson Smith (Big Kid 1/Ensemble)Erickson Smith is an 8th grader who is excited to be in this production of "Matilda!" He has been a part of "It’s a Madhouse!" (Gerald), "Willy Wonka" (Augustus Gloop), "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe" (Edmund), and "Annie" (Bert Healey). He would like to thank his friends and family for all of the support!
Lauren Keeble (Bid Kid 2/Ensemble)Lauren is an 8th grader who has performed in five other shows, most recently "It’s a Madhouse!" (Judith) and is so excited to be in "Matilda Jr.!" She loves all forms of art and music, gymnastics, and the superior pet, cats. She would like to thank her family for supporting her and God for protecting and guiding her.
Trina Bera (Big Kid 3/Ensemble)Trina Bera is an 8th grader, and is psyched to be a part of the musical, "Matilda!" She has been in "The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" (Witch's Follower), "Willy Wonka Jr." (Oompa Loompa) and "It’s a Madhouse!" (Grandmama) over the years. She loves having hobbies, which include reading, listening and playing music, etc. She truly enjoys being on stage and is absolutely pumped! She would like to thank her director for this awesome opportunity!
Kinsley Thompson (Cook/Big Kid)Kinsley is a 7th grader who is incredibly excited to be part of the musical. She has performed in "Willy Wonka Jr." (Oompa Loompa) & "It’s a Madhouse" (Caitlyn). She loves the fine arts and all things gaming. She would like to thank Miss Newman for the opportunity and her parents for all the encouragement!
Jillianne Avenido (Little Kid)Being on stage brings 6th grader Jillianne pure joy. This is her first production and is very excited to see it come to life. In the past, she has done crew for It’s a Madhouse. This couldn’t have been possible without Miss Newman, Ms. Bond, and the cast/crew. Jillianne would like to thank all her friends and family, especially her aunt and her uncle, who is an actor himself, for helping her with this show. Because even if you’re little, you can do a lot!
Audrey Cain (Big Kid)Audrey is a 7th grader who is so excited to be a part of "Matilda: the Musical Jr."! She has been in a few shows, her favorites being "The Lion King Jr." (Ensemble) and "It's a Madhouse!" (Mom). Ayaan Chhabra (Little Kid)Ayaan is a 6th grader and is super excited to be a part of "Matilda: the Musical." It's his first time being in a play and has had an excellent time rehearsing and learning. He also likes reading, playing soccer, and hanging out with his friends. He would like to thank the entire crew of the show for being the best!
Millie Clement (Little Kid)Millie is a 6th grader who is very excited to perform in the ensemble! Millie has done 8 shows: "Legally Blonde" (Sorority Sister), "Shrek" (Pied Piper), "Alice in Wonderland" (March Hare), "Mean Girls" (Rachel), "High School Musical 2" (Taylor), "It's a Madhouse!" (Krystal), "Mary Poppins" (Bird Woman), and "The Little Mermaid" (Flounder). When she is not on stage, she loves hanging out with her friends and playing with her dog. She would like to thank her family for supporting her, Ms. Bond, Miss Newman, and God for her talent.
Hayley Fichter (Little Kid)Hayley is a 7th grader, and this is her first performance with Woodland. She is excited to be a part of this show. She enjoys show choir, and dance. She would like to thank her family for encouraging her to try out and can’t wait to perform with everyone!
Sienna Hill (Little Kid)Sienna is a 7th grader this year and is thrilled to be a little kid in "Matilda." This is her second production, her first being "It's a Madhouse!" earlier this year. Her other interests include singing, playing the guitar, and tennis. She would like to thank her friends, family, and Miss Newman for this opportunity.
James Hodgin (Little Kid)James Hodgin is a 6th grader and is very excited to be a part of "Matilda." He loves theatre and would like to thank his mom for introducing him to theatre.
Savannah Huber (Little Kid)Savannah is a 6th grader and is super excited to be part of WMS’s "Matilda Jr." She has previously done “It’s a Madhouse“ (Crew). She has done softball and martial arts. She would like to thank her family, her sister (a previous WMS performer), her dogs, Luna and Juno, and her cat, Kitkat, for their support for her throughout her life.
Ahyeon Kim (Little Kid)Ahyeon is a 6th grader from South Korea who loves the performing arts. She participated in two plays during elementary school in South Korea, "Kongjwi and Patjwi" (Bird), and "The Tale of Chunhyang" (Chunhyang). She also enjoys playing soccer and badminton, and plays the piano and violin (she is not a member of the WMS Orchestra). She is excited to perform in a musical!
Maddy Margulies (Little Kid)Maddy is a 6th grader this year and is very excited to be a part of "Matilda: the Musical." She is a member of DC Dance Company and has performed in "Alice in Wonderland Jr." (Caterpillar) "Finding Nemo Jr." (Tiller) "Aristocats Jr." (Duchess) and "Aladdin" (Fortune Teller/Ensemble). While Maddy is not doing theatre, she is dancing, fashion designing, and hanging out with friends. She would like to thank her family and friends for the support.
Kate Moore (Big Kid)Kate is a 6th grader who is psyched to participate in Woodland's production of "Matilda!" This is her second Woodland show, as she was Norah in "It's a Madhouse!" in the fall. Her past shows include "High School Musical" (Cyndra), "Mary Poppins" (Mary Poppins) and "Aladdin" (Jafar)! Her dream shows are "Newsies," "Shrek," and "Into the Woods." Aside from theatre, Kate enjoys art, writing, entomology and cooking! Enjoy the show!
Bee Nelson (Big Kid)Bee is a 7th grader and this is her second show at Woodland, and her fifth show overall. She is very excited to be a part of this show! She has previously been in "Legally Blonde Jr." (Pforzheimer), "Alice in Wonderland" (Friend 2), "Wicked Jr.," and "It’s a Madhouse!" (Florence). Mary Katherine Savoie (Big Kid)Mary Katherine is an 8th grader and looks forward to "Matilda Jr." as much as she is sad to be leaving Woodland Theatre! She was most recently seen performing in "It’s a Madhouse!" as Caitlyn. She will forever be grateful for the experience she has gained. Quinn Sermersheim (Little Kid)Quinn is a 7th grader and is so excited to be a part of the "Matilda" cast. This will be her fourth show at WMS. Her past roles include: Quinn, the cheerleader, in "It’s a Madhouse!", the Elf in "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe," and the ensemble in "Willy Wonka." Quinn loves acting, singing, and dancing. Thank you Miss Newman and Ms. Bond for bringing such an enthusiastic play to WMS and giving all of the kids an opportunity to show off their talents. Rosslyn Sinclair (Big Kid)Rosslyn is in 7th grade and is ecstatic to be performing in "Matilda Jr." This is her first show at Woodland, though she was in The Little Mermaid Jr. (Ensemble), and was backstage in "It’s a Madhouse!" Off the stage, she enjoys traveling, exploring new things, and steering clear of the Trunchbull! She would like to thank her parents, Miss Newman, and the amazing cast and crew.
Sigrid Stiles (Little Kid)Sigrid Stiles is a 7th grader who is thrilled to be a part of her second production "Matilda Jr." She most recently has been seen in the play "It’s a Madhouse!" put on by Woodland Middle School, she would like to dedicate her performance to her old choir director, Ms. Bond. Sienna Stone (Big Kid)Sienna is a 7th grader who's excited to be a part of "Matilda." She is a new student and just moved to Tennessee from California. She enjoys singing, dancing, acting, and fashion. She has done multiple acting classes and participated in a few other musicals like "Peter Pan," "Moana," and "The Wizard of Oz." She'd like to thank the director for giving her the opportunity to be in the musical and film an audition.
