The Importance of Being Earnest Cast

Angel Otanez (Lane)
Angel steps foot onto the William Allen High School Theater Department stage for the first time in The Importance of Being Earnest. He is extremely excited to work with the team for this show, and loves the sarcasm his role portrays. Angel is an 11th grader in William Allen High School, and would like to thank his loved ones for giving him the practice needed to portray this role effortlessly, everyday.
Jae Rivera-Ortiz (Merriman)
Jae is fine with the fact he returns to school for his second year in high school, though he heard that his English teacher was also the theatre director for a play called The Importance of Being Ernest. This had gotten Jae interested and he decided to join try out, he spent two days trying to memorize a script his stepmom made for him to rehearse. A day or so after Jae was delighted to find out he had gotten a role called Merrimen, it’s a small role but it was still a success to Jae.
Naomi Herrera (Lady Bracknell)
Naomi is a senior at high school and is beyond excited to be doing her first fall production. In the Spring of this year she found her love for theater starring in Avenue Q (Kate Monster), and plans to pursue a Musical Theater degree following graduation, to further her singing, acting, and dancing education. Naomi would like to take the time to truly thank all of her pookies, who encourage and inspire her everyday throughout her busy schedule.
Noah Concepcion (Algernon Moncrief)
Noah is a junior at WAHS. He is very excited to be back on stage in his second production with Allen. You may have seen him in last year’s spring musical William Allen’s Avenue Q: School Edition (Princeton). Acting and performing is just a step in Noah’s journey as he wants to go on to college to major in theater or to major in theater directing to eventually become a director. He would like to thank his new director Mr. Deitz for giving him this opportunity and Mrs. Blanco for allowing him to use the Blackbox during his lunch to practice his lines.
Samara Ortiz (Dr. Chasuble)
Samara is in her junior year of high school and very much enjoys performing. She was in last year's production of AVENUE Q (Nicky) along with being in the fall play The Agony and Hilarity: The Life of Teens (Anne, Sabine). She wants to go on to major in theater and is especially interested in the upcoming musical and whatever it shall be. She would like to thank Mr. Deitz for this opportunity and she will definitely find a way back into this school for his 10 year mark.
Julian Ayala (Propmaster, Grip)
Julian has been in the willam allen stage crew since sophomore year. In his sophomore year he became prop master and has made props for the avenue Q show and the willam allen dance concert. He was last seen working on the homecoming set for Willam Allen Highschool, he plans to keep doing stage for his junior and senior year. He would like to thank his mom for supporting him and brother for caring about him.
Livia Pizzini (Key Grip)
Livia is a Junior at William Allen High School. She runs Stage and Technical Crew as a stage manager and key grip. She has previously worked on plays from her past years including The Rocky Horror Picture Show (partygoer, assistant grip), The Wiz (assistant grip), Agony and Hilarity (key grip), and Avenue Q (stage manager). Livia plans to continue her dreams in backstage theater after graduation and wants to stage manage Newsies on Broadway when she's older.
Kira Bickford (Grip)
Kira is a sophomore at William Allen High school. They are a grip for backstage and technical crew and are working their first show as a shadow and backstage grip for Allen's fall production. In the future, they hope to pursue a career in stage management.
Dylan Albright (Head Carpenter)
Dylan is a junior at William Allen High School. This is his second year in stage crew. He is currently the head carpenter for crew. He would like to thank Mr. Bankus for his guidance and all of the amazing creatives in the cast and those working hard behind the scenes on stage crew. And of course Mr. Hissam for his long lasting impression on the students of stage crew.
Ydelises Encarnacion (Grip)
Ydelises is a junior here at William Allen. This is her second year on crew as a grip. Upon graduation she hopes to further her education. Her favorite subject is History and in ten years she sees herself in school to be a Radiologist. She would like to thank her friends and crewmates for supporting her through this journey.
Adriana Copeland (Stage Crew)
Adriana is a junior at William Allen. She has been a member of stage crew since the end of her freshman year. She has worked on The Wiz, Agony and Hilarity, and Avenue Q. In the future, Adriana plans to go to LCCC and study Studio Arts in the hopes of becoming a professional painter.
Greyson Moretz (Head of Lighting)
Greyson is thrilled to be working on his fifth production with the William Allen Theater Department. He previously worked on Avenue Q: High School Edition and serves as the Head of Lighting. A junior at WAHS, he enjoys designing creative lighting that brings each performance to life. He would like to thank his friends, family, and crew for their constant love, support, and dedication.
David Deitz (Director)
David is thrilled to make his WAHS Theater Department debut! David is trained in theater at Lebanon Valley College and Boston University. His resume includes several acting and technical credits across the south central PA area, including his work as a director for shows like Clue: On Stage, Irving Berlin's: White Christmas, and Noises Off! Mr. Deitz would like to thank the Allentown School District for the opportunity to continue the tradition of bringing live theater to WAHS, the cast and crew for their willingness to try new things, and his fiance, Sileen, for everything else.
Joshua Bankus (Technical Director)
Joshua has been part of the WAHS Theater program since 2013. He is currently in his 21st year of teaching, having earned his undergraduate degree from Bloomsburg University and his Master's Degree from Wilkes University in Classroom Technology. He is very excited for the production of The Importance of Being Earnest as this will be his first show as Technical Director. "The truth is rarely pure and never simple."
Michelle Bruno (Box Office)
Michelle is part of the English department here at Allen and is in her 17th year of teaching. She earned her undergraduate degree from Kutztown University, her Master's Degree from East Stroudsburg, and is currently wrapping up a second Master's at East Stroudsburg. In addition to teaching, Michelle is also a Google Certified Coach, the director of The Nest Network, and the school archivist. A proud alumni, this is Michelle's first year working with the theater department in charge of the box office. She is very excited and happy to be part of the school productions. She would like to thank Mr. Bankus for telling her about the role and for his help on her first production!
