Producer/Musical DirectorRyan Plakorus
Ryan Plakorus is the Vocal Music Director at Wheat Ridge High School where he is currently the director of 4 choirs, and producer of the spring musical. Mr. Plakorus graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, CO where he studied Music Education with a Vocal/Piano/General Emphasis. There Mr. Plakorus was the inaugural recipient of the Greeley Chorale Conducting Scholarship and participated in many choirs and productions while at UNC. In addition, he also traveled to Germany where he performed roles and in the chorus with Opera Classica Europa. Ryan Plakorus adores the Wheat Ridge community and is incredibly honored to continue working in a place where there is such passion from the students, teachers, parents and community. Mr. Plakorus loves to read, ski, hike, watch TV and be with friends. He also loves choir, and loves to sing as he is a part of a Church Choir. He also serves as the Tenor/Bass Choir Repertoire and Resources chair for Colorado ACDA. Mr. Plakorus is incredibly excited and honored to have the opportunity to work with these hard working and fantastic young adults, and share in a fun, creative and memorable process in creating a show!
Assistant Producer and Musical DirectorVicki Duckworth
Vicki Duckworth, pianist, is a nationally certified teacher of music and is the long-time collaborative pianist for the WRHS Performing Arts Department. This production is her 30th show at WRHS.
Karen grew up in a musical family and has danced since 1968. She grew up performing, teaching and choreographing and continues to do so today. Karen is a graduate of Wheat Ridge High School and Metropolitan State University and the proud mother of Caitlin and Andrew, who both inherited their love of dance from their mother. Karen has been choreographing musicals in Colorado for the last 30 years and this will be her 28th year at Wheat Ridge HS. She now owns her own dance studio in Applewood, Rise Dance Co. She is very excited to be able to do what she loves - educating and inspiring young performers!
Daniel Sares is proud to be here Directing these great student performers, who have dedicated their time and work to this show. He was once a performer in this very program and is proud to be here a third year keeping the tradition going. Daniel attended the Arts School, Columbia College Chicago, where he majored and focused in Film and Theatre Direction also minoring in Performance Craft. His experience over 6+ years since high school has taken him from Denver to Chicago, Salt Lake to LA performing and directing. His career continues showing him how to teach and to uplift these dedicated young performers.
