Animal Farm Cast
Lorenz Austria (Squealer)Going from the cold, hard floor of the MPR, to a manipulative pig on a farm. It’s one of my first times participating in a stage production. Honestly, I’m so glad I was able to play a part. It's my excuse to act like an animal publicly. I appreciate the inclusivity my fellow cast members have provided for me, especially since this is very much new to me.
Jayda Bass (Snowball)Throughout the entirety of freshman year, I anticipated that my junior year would be my best year theatrically. Since then, I have come to the realization that every single year of theater has strengthened me as an individual, and enriched my positive mindset. This show has definitely pushed me out of my casting comfort zone, and I couldn’t be more excited to snort, squeal, stomp, and scream on stage. My family, friends, and teachers have given me endless support, and I cannot thank them enough for helping me stay true to myself. As a thespian board member, honors thespian, and DTASC finalist 4x, I am proud to say that theater is one of my biggest passions. I hope that you enjoy the show! All animals are equal!
Ashlynn Bunnell (Clover)I have been in theater for the past 4 years but this is only the third show that I have acted in. Animal Farm has truly brought me out of my shell more than I thought was possible and I am so grateful to the rest of the cast for making the process so incredible. Making animal noises on a stage in front of my whole school wasn’t something that I thought I would ever do but the people I'm with make it so much fun! Thank you to our amazing costuming and tech crews, as well as all the actors, and thank you to my parents for tolerating the late pick-ups it took to get me to all our rehearsals!
Kori Collins (Moses)When I auditioned for this show I didn't know the plot, I auditioned solely for more experience auditioning. Now I'm getting to perform in my 7th show and my first one in high school. I'm so grateful for my family for dealing with all the days I've stayed late and I'm so grateful to the entire cast as they've all helped me improve in my acting and have made me feel welcome in high school theater.
Xavier Hernandez Flores (Boxer)Throughout my theatre life I’ve learned to play many characters, and I’ve been slowly developing my acting skills to be better. In this show I play Boxer a character that is new to me, for in plays prior I’d played many comedic characters. Today I now take on a more serious role. By trying something new I hope to bring this character to life, and to entertain our audience!
Riley George (Old Major)This is my sixth show at WCA, and I am so happy to be part of the amazing cast of Animal Farm! I am so proud of everything that this cast has accomplished, and I have loved every day of rehearsal making animal sounds and hitting buckets with my friends. I would like to thank my family and friends for always supporting me, and Mr. Brady for working so hard every day and being such an incredible director–it wouldn’t be possible without all of you!
Jazzlyn Thai (Benjamin)Hello! I’ve always strived to be a better performer, and I believe that Animal Farm has given me the opportunity to improve my characterization skills. Unlike the Menachap Herald in Trap, I have few things to say, but still many possible ways to say it! Anyway! I’m really glad that we didn’t have to do this show outside–I’d really feel like an animal then.
Melanie Wainaina (Napoleon)HI! I got to play Napoleon in this show, and it’s one of my favorite roles I’ve ever played! I am an honors thespian student, and have been in theater for 3 years, but I haven’t have any lead roles in my work so far. To have a character that is so crucial and important to the show, such as Napoleon, is a huge milestone for me. I’m so grateful for the opportunity, and I hope that my performance of Napoleon lives up to your expectations.
Khloe Watkins (Norma Pike)Hello, I’m Khloe and this is my second year at theater! You may have previously seen me as Norma Pike from Trap, Marcellus from Hamlet, or the palm tree from Hansel, And, Gretel. Thank you to friends, family, and Mrs. Chadwick for being so gracious with me trying to juggle both theater and the Mathletes competition team. Being an animal is very much out of my expertise and comfort zone, but I hope that doesn’t show in my performing. I’m very excited to present Animal Farm as Mollie and Minimus with the rest of the cast, enjoy the show!
Emma Wright (Farmer Jones, Birds)I’m a senior! This is my fourth year as a performer and my third year in tech. I am a National Honors Thespian and this is my second year as an officer on Thespian Board. I have so many amazing people in my life who support me and I cannot thank them enough! This show has been so amazing to work on and I have gotten to push myself so much with it! I am so fortunate to have gotten to be a part of this show and I hope you all enjoy it!
