The Wizard of Oz Cast
Riley George (Dorothy)I am currently a senior, and I’ve been acting for all four years of high school at the Western Center. This is my seventh and final show, and I’m so thankful for this opportunity to be in a show that I’ve been waiting for for nearly two years. This has been the best show I’ve ever worked on, and I am unbelievably proud and happy to have worked with such an incredible group of people. A huge thank you to my friends and family for always supporting me in theatre, and a special thank you to Ashlynn and Emma for being the best theatre friends I could have ever asked for. And most of all, thank you to Mr. Brady for making this show possible and giving me such an amazing opportunity.
Tommy Mandella (Toto)Hey! I’m Tommy, a senior, and I’m so happy to be playing Toto! This has actually been a dream role of mine for a while and I couldn’t have picked a better cast to act with for the class of 26’s last show! Working behind the stage for years, I once made a joke that I would join theater to try and do this exact role and here we are! I want to shoutout my amazing friends, teachers, family, and other cast members, as they are the biggest reason why I’m able to do what I love. Every step of the way for this show has been amazing and I can’t wait to see how everyone enjoys it!
Camilia Gutierrez (Aunt Em/Ensemble)I am a part of the class of 2026 and I am very excited to be working on Wizard of Oz. I wanted to say thank you to my parents for supporting me in theatre all these years. Along with my cast mates, who are extremely talented and who I am extremely glad to have worked alongside them for this production!
Oscar Tapia (Uncle Henry/Ensemble)Back in high school, being in theatre wasn’t always something I’d planned on doing, but I Couldn’t be Happier being in it. The whole experience, it’s just absolutely Wonderful. I absolutely love talking and getting to know people, and pink! I honestly couldn’t have asked for a better senior year. Honestly, because of all the amazing people I’ve gotten to know, I have been changed For Good.
Lorenz Austria (Zeke/Cowardly Lion)This is my second time participating in a theater production, and the last one in high school :((. I, in freshman year, would’ve never believed that I would be taking on such big roles! Being an animal seems to be my thing. I want to thank my close friends for believing in me when I didn’t, and especially want to thank Mr. Brady for giving me the opportunity to finally step out of my comfort zone.
Lucas Land (Hickory/Tinman)Hello there, my name is Lucas Asher Land, and I am so excited to be the giant walking rooting tooting pile of tin in the Wizard of Oz! This’ll be my final show, and I’ll make sure to put my whole heart into it, when I find it! I am also excited to finally debut my tap dancing career! The world will consider me Gene Kelly the Sequel!
Ashlynn Bunnell (Hunk/Scarecrow)Over the past 4 years, theater has been a staple to my life where my family has only grown. Not only has it changed my life but I have been able to see it change my friends lives too. The community that has been built here is one of a kind, and I have been able to grow beside some of the best people I have ever known, in which I know, even after graduation, I will still be able to grow alongside. As a senior, I can finally see what my upperclassmen felt when they saw friendships forming between grade levels, and I am so proud of how they have grown but also how they have helped me grow. I see who I once was in the quiet freshmen who I’ve had to tell to speak louder, and now I'm reaching National Thespian with the final character I’ll ever get to play, Scarecrow. I am truly grateful for every kid, parent, and teacher that makes having such a wonderful family possible.
Emma Wright (Almira Gulch/Wicked Witch Of The West)I’m a senior and have been in shows here at Western Center since my freshman year. To say it has been amazing is such an understatement. I have made some of the best memories in theater and I cannot thank everyone enough for that. Every single class of theater I have gotten to work with has made such an incredible impact on me, from the seniors my freshman year to the freshman my senior year and every one in between. Thank you to everyone who has been with me through it all and thank you to my family and friends who have always supported me and cheered me on!
Xavier Hernandez Flores (Professor Marvel/Wizard of Oz/Ensemble)My name is Xavier Hernandez, and I'm a very passionate theatre kid. I’ve played many roles leading up to this role as the Wizard, but nothing could truly prepare me for this. Since I got into theatre I’ve been wanting to play a fun role like this one. I’m really excited to be able to perform as the Wizard for all of you and hope to make you guys smile at this show!
Jessica Ray (Glinda)This year I’m a Junior at WCA, I started my acting journey at Hemet High as Flounder in The Little Mermaid, followed by Gertrude McFuzz at WCA. The past few years I took a break and found leadership roles in ASB, Link Crew, and WCA’s Christian Club. I’m so glad to be back and honored to play the role of Glinda in this amazing show!
