About Critics' Choice

Critics' Choice is a play within a play, featuring two theater critics who are watching a play while discussing their work, their love lives, and the play at hand. The play they are watching is a mystery with detectives who are investigating a murder. The story takes place in the detectives’ office and a school teachers’ lounge. One of the critics ends up going on stage and getting involved in the play and confusion and humor ensues.  Playwright Patrick Phair comments, “My first two works, Photoshop and Two Flags for Marco were an attempt to portray characters trying to survive and thrive in difficult times. Critics' Choice however, is a comedy and poses the question:  As an audience member, how would you perform if you were suddenly caught in the middle of the play you are watching?”  This is the world-premiere of Critics' Choice.
