About Finding Nemo, Jr.

Disney’s Finding Nemo JR. is a 60-minute musical adaptation of the beloved 2003 Pixar movie Finding Nemo, with new music by award-winning songwriting team Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. Marlin, an anxious and over-protective clownfish, lives in the Great Barrier Reef with his kid Nemo, who longs to explore the world beyond their anemone home. But when Nemo is captured and taken to Sydney, Marlin faces his fears and sets off on an epic adventure across the ocean. With the help of lovable characters such as optimistic Dory, laid-back sea turtle Crush, and the supportive Tank Gang, Marlin and Nemo both overcome challenges on their journey to find each other and themselves.

Waukegan Public Schools

Waukegan Public Schools’ Fine Arts Department is excited to announce the fifth production in our district-wide theater opportunity for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade.

It's not just entertainment. Theater is key to more creative, more communicative, healthier kids.

At its core, the theater requires imagination, empathy, listening, focus and teamwork, all of which greatly benefit children struggling to control their active minds or express themselves. Theater classes and participation in plays and musicals provide a foundation for students to gain social skills and express themselves.

During the spring of 2024, WPS launched the Waukegan Performance Arts Company, or WAUK-PAC, which aims to produce theater performances featuring students from District 60’s elementary and middle schools. We are so excited to present the group's fifth musical theater production… Finding Nemo, JR.

On with the show!
