About The Wolves

Winner of the Special Drama Desk Award for its acting ensemble (2017) and finalist for the Pulitzer Prize for Drama (2017).

'The Wolves' by Sarah DeLappe is a one-act play that follows a girls' indoor soccer team as they go through their Saturday morning warm-ups over several weeks. The play captures the complex and overlapping conversations of these nine teenage girls, identified only by their jersey numbers, as they discuss everything from soccer strategy and gossip to more profound topics like global politics, identity, and loss. The dialogue is rapid-fire and naturalistic, offering a glimpse into the raw and often contradictory world of adolescence. As the season progresses, the team faces both personal and collective challenges, including injuries and a tragic event that forces them to confront their vulnerabilities and the strength of their bond.
