"Brainy Buddies: Turning Fear to Fun" (Yamini Vungaturi)This talk focuses on the lack of pediatric medical innovations, especially in diagnosing neurological disorders in children. Despite medical advancements, only 24% of innovations in the past decade have been designed for children under 12. The speaker shares the story of Kenny, a 4-year-old boy with epilepsy and autism, whose challenging experience with traditional EEGs inspired the creation of Brainy Buddy—a child-friendly EEG.
Brainy Buddy uses Bluetooth technology to make the EEG wireless, allowing children to move freely, and machine. learning to improve diagnostic accuracy. The device also includes customizable stickers featuring children's characters to make the process more enjoyable.
