Join the University of Portland Singers and Bel Canto for the University’s signature choral event of the year, with music to celebrate the Advent and Christmas seasons, including works by Rosephanye Powell, Tim Takach and a premiere performance of Elaine Hagenberg’s stunning Illuminare. 

The music program at the University of Portland offers a Bachelor of Arts in Music with four tracks: vocal, instrumental, pre-music education, and general.  In all four, the liberal arts core curriculum is complemented by a deep study of music in the classroom, ensembles, and private lessons.  Students from all majors take part in musical ensembles, including the Wind Symphony, Orchestra, University Singers, Jazz Ensemble, Bel Canto, Pep Band, Chapel Music Ensemble, and several chamber music ensembles.  There are about twenty major concerts each year and many other performances, both on campus and at some of metropolitan Portland's finest concert venues.  Graduates of the music program are teachers in schools and studios, church musicians, and work in the music industry and many other fields.  Many go on to music graduate programs.
