Director
Steve Schultz
Steve Schultz (Director) is Tusculum’s Arts Outreach Director. Over the course of his 30 years in theatre, Schultz has written over 70 plays, directed over 100, and performed in nearly as many. He is married to Erin Hensley Schultz, with whom he has shared his favorite moments, both on-stage and off, including Macbeth, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Much Ado About Nothing, Into the Woods, 39 Steps, Buddy: The Buddy Holly Story, and Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, Lemons, among many others. Together they founded Blue Plate Special, East Tennessee’s most punctual Improv Comedy group, and they run the Tusculum Summer Theatre Arts Camp. Schultz is the father of two brilliant dragon-slayers, Sam and Zetta.

Elijah Collins-White
Elijah Collins-White is Tusculum University's Interim Technical Director for 2023-2024. He has been heavily involved in T@T shows for years. Before coming to Tusculum in an official capacity, Collins-White served as a stage technician and lighting designer for Capitol Theatre, and Niswonger Performing Arts Center, working shows for Pat Benatar, Kansas, Atlanta Pops Orchestra, Marty Stuart, and many others.

Erin Hensley Schultz
Erin Hensley Schultz is an actor, singer, improviser, storyteller, and standup comedian who has performed on stages throughout South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee for the last two decades. She has appeared as Bernadette (Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons), The Witch (Into the Woods), Patsy Cline (Always, Patsy Cline), Lady Macbeth (Macbeth), Titania (A Midsummer Night’s Dream), Columbia (The Rocky Horror Show), Beatrice (Much Ado About Nothing), and Morticia (The Addams Family). As a storyteller, she has been featured at Word and MOTH story slams and has performed standup at several theatres and venues in the TriCities, Asheville, Gatlinburg, and Knoxville. She has taught theatre camps, improv, acting, and storytelling workshops, as well as worked on dozens of productions as director, costumer, choreographer, or music director.

Director of Choreography
Elizabeth Sparks
Elizabeth Sparks (Director of Choreography, Fight Choreography) is a freelance choreographer, dancer, martial artist, and stunt actress for theatre, film, and television. Her most recent work includes appearances The Tomorrow War, Suicide Squad, P-Valley, and American Soul. Elizabeth is a new voiceover and motion capture artist for animation and video games, with projects releasing in 2026. She has worked numerous conventions and comic cons as a freelance hire, most recently for DreamHack and ETH Denver. Elizabeth's biggest passion is teaching and has taught martial arts, acting for theatre and screen, Shakespeare, and dance in Greeneville and Johnson City since 2010.

Assstant Choreographer
Eliza Weekly
Eliza Weekly (Assistant Choreographer) is thrilled to be working with Tusculum Universities theatre program for the first time, as assistant choreographer. She has been dancing for twenty years, and has been in eleven full scale ballet productions. Eliza has been teaching classical ballet to beginner students for the last three years, well as choreographing recital and competitions dances for her many students. She would like to thank director Steve Schultz, head choreographer Elizabeth Sparks, and the rest of the cast and crew for giving her the opportunity to work on Newsies alongside them.

Dodger Kirkland
Dodger Kirkland (Stage Manager) is a Greene County native and frequent flier in local theatre communities. He holds acting, tech, and directorial credits from such shows as The Oktavist, James and the Giant Peach, La Cage Aux Folles, and Mamma Mia. He is grateful to be back at the theatre that started it all to stage manage such an all-star cast. He’d like to thank his spouse, Jonah, for covering dinner most evenings while he has been working on this production, and hopes that the audience has as great a time watching it as the company has had putting it together.

Garry Renfro
Garry Renfro has a BFA in Graphic Design and an MFA in Studio Arts from East Tennessee State University. He had a 42-year career as a professional designer & Production Graphics Manager for the City of Johnson City, Design Alternatives, & American Greetings. For over 30 years, he has loaned his talents to nonprofit organizations like The Exchange Club, Mainstreet Greeneville, Greeneville/Green County Chamber of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity, and Rural Resources. Since 1995, he has volunteered with Theatre-at-Tusculum, providing visual artistic direction, scenic painting, prop design and construction, poster design, and T-Shirt design.
