About the TCHS-VPA Dance Department
The TCHS-VPA Dance Department is comprised 10th-12th grade dance majors. These learners are physically expressive, socially conscious, and creative individuals. As a community we value education and art-making as tools for empowerment, self-reflection, and social change.
Students in the Trenton Central High School can enroll in the 3-year Dance Career Technical Education (CTE) Program to train a variety of dance genres with faculty and guest artists. Dancers also explore Anatomy, Dance History, Improvisation and Choreography. Their holistic dance education is extended through the guest artist residencies, field trips, and pre-college experiences. The TCHS-VPA Dance Department was founded and built by Elizabeth Rose Zwierzynski, B.F.A., Ed.M., and has been under the direction of Rachel Sophie Isaacs Schwartz since December 2023.
