About Trenton Charity Comic Con 2023

The Trenton Charity Comic Con is a philanthropic initiative from the high school run by enthusiastic students from the Comic Book & Manga Club, Volunteer Club, and Restaurant and Business Management Academy with assistance from passionate teacher volunteers. Each year, the students from the Comic Book & Manga Club will hold a vote early in the school year to pick the charity we choose to raise funds for each year (see our donation page at the link above for more information on this year's charity).

For any additional event information, including vendor and exhibitor details, please contact the event coordinator, Edward Hoplock, at [email protected] or [email protected]. Edward is a Social Studies teacher at Trenton Central High School, has run the after school Comic Book & Manga Club for the last 8 years, and has been teaching and wrote the curriculum for the “Graphically Speaking” elective at TCHS that uses comic books, graphic novels, and manga to increase student engagement, literacy and comprehension skills, civics, and social-emotional learning. Mr. Hoplock has also presented at New York Comic Con (2022) about a variety of ways to incorporate “Comics in Classrooms” for schools and libraries.

Trenton Charity Comic Con: COVID Policy

Trenton Charity Comic Con is being held at Trenton Central High School, which is a state and federally funded public school. As such, our building, students, and staff have had to adhere to ever-changing federal, state, and local district mandates in relation to COVID policies.

As of now, COVID vaccination is not mandated for entry. As of now, the mask mandate has been lifted and masking is optional. Social distancing is still encouraged and expected to be respected to as much degree as possible and when requested by guests, staff, and attendees.

These conditions are subject to change, and any notice given to the school will immediately be updated for the event policy this year or in the future and notice will be given via social media and the event website.

As mentioned in our anti-harassment policy, any COVID related harassment towards mask wearing, vaccination status, or other pandmeic related aspects will not be tolerated and can result in expulsion from the event without refund.

These have been tough times, and we are all here today to enjoy ourselves and have fun at a communal gathering for a good cause. Please be mindful and considerate of others in sharing your experience at the event.
