Amaya Hardin (Ti Moune)
Amaya Hardin (Ti Moune) is thrilled to be back at the Studio Theater this summer in such a wonderful and creative production! This is Amaya’s choreographer debut and she couldn’t have chosen a better team to have it with. Amaya will be a senior Musical Theatre major at Ouachita Baptist University in the fall. She has appeared in a few local productions such as The Little Mermaid (Ariel), The Spongebob Musical (Sandy Cheeks), and RENT (Mimi Marquez). Please enjoy our beautiful journey to the island!
Hall Nichols (Little Girl)
Hall Leigh Nichols, 9 years old and a 5th grader at Don Roberts Elementary, began her theatre and arts training last summer when she attended her first Junior Arts Academy at the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts. She continued to explore opportunities to support--and participate in--local theatre productions in and around her hometown of Little Rock. This year she is excited to participate in her first stage production as she joins the Once On This Island cast.
Dalton Carrol (Daniel)
Dalton is elated in his return to the Studio Theatre in their production of Once On This Island! Some of his favorite performed roles include Piano Lesson (as Lymon), From Up Here (as Charlie), and Much Ado About Nothing (as Claudio). He is also excited to have recently become a certified actor combatant and coordinator, having received certifications in unarmed, single-sword, broadsword, and rapier & dagger by the SAFD. He has recently come off The Weekend Theatre’s production of Yellowman as Eugene, and Actor Theatre Little Rock’s production of Spring Awakening and Much Ado About Nothing as Claudio. Being a part of this magical production has been a dream fulfilled, and Dalton would like to thank the Studio and particularly the director for their passion and commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and productive space!
Miki Gaynor (Papa Ge)
Miki Gaynor, a native of North Little Rock, Arkansas, made her theater debut at the Argenta Community Theater in the 2018 production of To Kill a Mockingbird as Calpurnia. Finding a true love for acting and the theater experience, she continues her pursuit of acting and theater. Other roles Miki has portrayed include Bare: A Pop Opera playing Sister Chantelle (The Weekend Theatre, 2018); Truvy in Steel Magnolias (Bearden Productions Center for the Art, 2019); Joy in Backsliders (Bearden Productions Center for the Arts, 2019); Mother Goose in The Ugly Duckling (Bearden Productions Center for the Arts, 2020); Ms. Walker in Goosebumps The Musical (The Local Artists Project, 2022); Aunt Mama in Sugar in our Wounds (The Weekend Theatre, 2023); Celie in The Color Purple Musical (The Studio Theatre, 2023), Faye in Skeleton Crew (Actors Theatre of Little Rock, 2023), Mom in Corduroy (Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts, 2023) and as the Chorus in Romeo & Juliet (Actor’s Theatre of Little Rock, 2024). Other acting credits that Miki has included some minor film work which includes student projects, movie background extras, local producers, and participation with the Little Rock 48 Film Project (2020). Miki currently acts as a standardized patient (UAMS) and as a puppeteer/puppeteer translator and storyteller for Flurffy & Friends (Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts). When not acting Miki creates jewelry (Miki Magick Beads & Crystals) as well as provides a safe space for therapeutic cuddles, companionship, and emotional support (Cuddly LLC Professional Cuddler/Touch Therapy).
Patricia Loera (Erzulie)
Patricia Loera graduated from Arkansas Tech University with a degree in Vocal Music Education. While at Tech, she participated in a variety of vocal and instrumental ensembles and invested in the theatre/music theatre workshop programs. Her highlighted roles include Ado Annie in Oklahoma, The Witch in Into The Woods, and being a Featured Soloist in ATU’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble Concert: Light, Flight, and Heights, November 2023. Patricia aims to share her passion and music philosophies one show at a time - directing with one hand, and singing with her loved ones with the other.
Taijee (Asaka)
Taijee (He/Him/Accepts Any) is happy to be home at The Studio Theatre as Asaka! He is originally from Lonoke, Arkansas, but resides in Little Rock! He is a performer, playwright, and director who emphasizes creating for marginalized groups. Taijee received his Bachelor of Fine Arts with honors and Master of Arts in Teaching from Southern Arkansas University in the years of 2019 and 2023 respectively. His recent credits include August Wilson’s Gem of the Ocean, The Little Mermaid (Director), The Color Purple (Assistant Director/Harpo), Black Nativity (Joseph), and an all-black casting of Next to Normal (Director).
Kenneth Gaddie (Agwe)
Kenneth aka "Hollywoodwoo" is happy to be back at The Studio Theatre. He was last seen here as Mr. Beauguarde in Charlie and The Chocolate Factory. His experience extends beyond the stage and into film and television. Special thanks to Caelon, Dariane, Amaya, Christian, and the entire creative team at TST for letting him come play. Nick Farr (Tonton Julian)
Nick is excited to return to the Studio Theatre as a performer. Nick recently directed Choir Boy here at the Studio. Some of his favorite works include Next to Normal (Dan), The Color Purple (Mister), The Mountaintop (MLK), and Matilda (Escapologist). Nick holds 2 Bachelor's Degrees and a Doctorate in Music Education. He also holds a Master's, Specialist, and Doctorate in Education Administration. Currently, Nick is pursuing an MFA in Acting. Nick serves as the Principal of Maumelle High School and Artistic Director of Una Voce at Wildwood, (a youth community choir ages 14-22), where he works with local youth regularly. Nick trains young vocalists individually and collectively to see them grow musically, including his own two daughters Kennedy and Rhyan.
B. Devine (Mama Euralie)
B. Devine is thrilled to be a part of the Once on this Island cast and beyond excited to bring her role of Mama Euralie to life!
Fernanda Posadas (Andrea)
Fernanda Posadas is delighted to be making her Studio Theatre debut as Andrea. Fernanda was born and raised in Tegucigalpa, Honduras. She earned her B.A. in Theatre, acting emphasis, from Arkansas State University in the spring of 2023. Some of her previous credits include "Beauty and the Beast" (Murry's Dinner Playhouse), “Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street” (Actors Theatre LR), “She Loves Me” (The Link Theatre), and “Little Women” (Arkansas State University). Her talents are expanding to the screens! You can see her in Arkansas PBS "Mystery League," series and other commercial works. She thanks God for the opportunity to share the stage and experience with such a talented cast and crew.
Jason Jackson (Young Daniel)
Jason Jackson is thrilled to be a cast member of Once On This Island at the Studio! Being his first show at the theatre, he is extremely excited to be on a new stage and making the island come to life. Before Once On This Island, Jason portrayed Randall in Bring It On, Terrance Roberts in One Ninth, and Elf Ensemble in Miracle on 34th Street, all at Argenta Contemporary Theatre. He’s going on to play Roger in Grease: The Musical soon after. At his high school, he has played Hades in The Lightning Thief, and Ensemble in Mean Girls: The Musical. When Jason’s not doing shows, however, he enjoys spending his time at home, or with some of his close friends, but the stage is where he finds the most comfort. He cannot wait to jump back into it and for everyone to come see the talent in Once On This Island!
Evanee Dokes (Young Papa Ge)
Evanee Dra’a Dokes is so excited to be back at The Studio Theater! She was last seen in the Ensemble (Cassie U/S, perf.) of 13: The Musical. Evanee’s most recent performances also include Frozen (Elsa) at North Little Rock High School and Argenta Community Theater’s productions of One Ninth (Melba) and Bring It On: The Musical (Nautica). She is very thankful for the opportunity and hopes you enjoy the show!
Hannah-Grace Twitty (Young Erzulie)
Hannah-Grace Twitty is ready to take the stage in another Studio production! She has been seen at The Studio in The Little Mermaid JR (Ensemble), Descendants (Ensemble), and Finding Nemo JR (Gurgle). She has also been seen in Spongebob The Musical (Karen), and Rudolph (Mrs. Claus). Hannah-Grace loves to run track, be with family, swim at the lake, and sing in the worship band!
Spencer Steward (Young Asaka)
Spencer Elizabeth Steward, a talented sixth-grader at Westwind School for the Performing Arts, is excited to play Young Asaka. She's performed as Fregley in "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," Gianna Brown in "Black Nativity," Phyllis Brown in "One Ninth," Ursula in "The Little Mermaid," Ms. Hannigan in "Annie Jr.," and Dorothy in "The Wiz." Beyond the stage, Spencer enjoys sewing, drawing, singing, and dancing. She's grateful to her family and friends for their constant support.
Austin H. Bernard (Young Agwe)
Austin is excited to be performing at TST after appearing in The Chocolate Factory as Charlie, 13 as Richie, and Kinky Boots as young Simon. Austin also appeared in productions at Murry’s Dinner Playhouse such as Joseph and in the amazing technicolor Dreamcoat and Addams Family The Musical. He also appeared in a production of Black Nativity at the Actors Theater of Little Rock. He is also a member of the PVMS Jr. thespian troupe 89551.
Quinton Sanders (Storyteller)
Quinton Sanders, a Jonesboro, AR native, has a great passion for theatre. Quinton's journey in theatre began as a pursuit of something new, now evolving into a dedicated craft. With an eagerness to broaden horizons, contribute to diverse perspectives, and enrich storytelling. He embarks on a path to blend creativity and shaping compelling narratives on and off the stage.
Willie Johnson (Storyteller)
Willie Johnson is a Little Rock native. He graduated from Southern Arkansas University in 2019, and has a BFA in Theatre. This will be his fourth show at TST. His past credits include: Seaweed (Hairspray), Wailin’ Joe (Memphis the Musical), Mr. Green in Clue at the Studio Theatre, and Henry in Next to Normal. He also appeared in The Color Purple at The Studio Theatre as an Ensemble Member. He most recently appeared in Beautiful: The Carole King Musical at the Argenta Contemporary Theatre. He is very excited to take this stage once again.
Xander Udochi (Storyteller)
Xander Udochi is a Nigerian-American actor who specializes in theatre and film as an actor combatant. He underwent his training through the University of Central Arkansas where he would later graduate and go out into the world to collaborate with artists all around. He is excited to make his debut with The Studio Theatre! Past credits include Benedick (Much Ado! About Nothing), Xander (Shakespeare Cabaret), and Tybalt/Friar Lawrence (Arkansas Shakespeare Theatre).
Jharel Jerez (Storyteller)
Jharel’s passion for the arts has increased tremendously thanks to being a part of productions that productions that showcase the beauty of culture (Angel in Rent; Daniel Beauxhomme in Once On This Island) productions that encourage laughter (Franz in Rock of Ages; Douglas Panch in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee), and productions that have the ability to transport you to another time (Franz in The Sound of Music; Ensemble in She Loves Me). They are excited to now be a part of the Central Arkansas arts community and look forward to what this new chapter holds.
Angelica Glass (Storyteller)
Angelica is thrilled to be a part of the Once on this Island cast and bringing her role of Storyteller to life!
Portia S. Jones (Storyteller)
Portia S. Jones is excited to be returning to the studio theatre. She has been recognized for her remarkable talent and contribution to the world of performing arts. Nominated for a prestigious Broadway World Award, Portia has left an indelible mark on the stage with her powerful performances and versatility. Hailing from the quaint town of Altheimer, Arkansas, Portia's journey into the world of theater began with a passion for storytelling and a dream to inspire through her craft. Her early years were marked by a profound love for the arts, and she honed her skills with dedication and resilience. Portia's credits include, "The Color Purple" musical at the Studio Theatre. Her role as Truvy in "Steel Magnolias, "The Black Nativity" and "Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella. Beyond acting, Portia is a social media influencer, using her platform to promote health and wellness. With a passion for inspiring positive lifestyle choices, she encourages her followers to embrace a journey towards well-being. Portia's dedication to promoting a healthy lifestyle extends beyond the stage, making her a beacon of positivity in the entertainment industry.
Alycya Thomas (Storyteller)
Alycya is excited to return back to The Studio. Alycya is passionate about theatre and enjoys showcasing the works of marginalized groups. Recent previous credits include The Color Purple (Squeak), Next To Normal (Doctor)
Rosa Howard (Storyteller)
Rosa Howard is a native of Memphis, Tennessee. She grew up singing and performing in church and all throughout her high school and undergraduate studies. After a long hiatus from the stage, she returned in 2016 for The Weekend Theater’s production of “The Wiz” where she played Addeperle, the “good witch of the north.” In 2018 Rosa was in The Weekend Theater's production of "The House That Will Not Stand" as the character LaVeuve. In 2019 she was in Bearden's production of "Steel Magnolias"; as the character Annelle and returned to The Weekend Theater for its production of "Ain't Misbehavin"; as the character made famous by Armelia McQueen. In the Summer of 2023 Rosa participated in the ensemble of “Rent” at the Argenta Community Theater. Rosa is excited about making her debut appearance at the Studio Theater in this awesome production of “Once on this Island!” She is appreciative of Mr. Caleon Colbert for the opportunity. She is extremely thankful for the loving support of her husband and three sons.
