Comfortably ensconced in his charming Connecticut home, Sidney Bruhl, a successful writer of Broadway thrillers, is struggling to overcome a dry spell which has resulted in a string of failures and a shortage of funds. A possible break in his fortunes occurs when he receives a script from a student in the seminar he has been conducting at a nearby college—a thriller that Sidney recognizes immediately as a potential Broadway smash. Sidney’s plan, devised with his wife’s help, is to offer collaboration to the student for co-credit. Or is it? DEATHTRAP provides twists and turns of devilish cleverness, and offers hilariously sudden shocks in such abundance that audiences will be spellbound until the very last moment.

MARIEMONT PLAYERS, INC
Mariemont Players, Inc. (MPI) is one of Cincinnati’s oldest and most successful community theaters. Our all-volunteer organization delivers high quality live theater entertainment at affordable prices. MPI stages 6 productions a year (a new play every 2 months). There’s loads of variety in our shows - from hilarious comedies to exciting musicals to challenging mysteries and thrilling dramas. We’re proud to say that our shows, actors and directors have won many awards, but more importantly our audiences keep coming back, season after season, for some of the best live theater in Greater Cincinnati.
The Players were organized over 85 years ago as a church group that performed plays in Mariemont, Ohio. In 1960 we bought the historic Plainville four-room school building at the intersection of Walton Creek and Muchmore Roads, between Mariemont and Terrace Park, and turned it into our Walton Creek Theater. The original building’s cornerstone was laid in 1869, but the present solid brick building dates from 1910. We’re one of the few local community theaters with a permanent home. Parking is free next to the building. We’re also handicap accessible with an elevator to the theater auditorium and a handicap accessible restroom. No matter where you sit in our intimate auditorium, you won’t miss a line - there’s not a bad seat in the house.
Join us for the excitement of opening night – with a meet-the-cast reception after the show. The curtain goes up for evening performances on Thursdays through Sundays for three weekends. Tickets may be purchased by phone, online or by mail. So you don’t miss a show, contact our box office at 513-501-1718 and order a season subscription.
