Eleanor (Emily Cordes)
Emily is a NYC-based stage, film, and web actress. Recent roles: Stenographer in Waiting For Lefty (Staten Island Shakespeare Theatre); Ursula in Short-Haired Domestic Silver Tabby (King Lahiri Productions); Social Worker in Happy Tuesday (The Living Lab/Columbia University). She co-produced and performed in the virtual monologue showcase NYSeeing 2020, and is developing So Sad, So Sexy, a devised play about the fetishization of mentally ill women. http://bit.ly/EmilyCordes .
Judge/Amy (Gary Lizardo)
Gary studied at Phila Musical Academy. His NYC stage credits include: Sheridan Whiteside (The Man Who Came To Dinner), Chauncey Miles (The Nance), Julian Marsh (42nd Street), David Kingsley (Stage Door), Herr Schultz (Cabaret),: Zoser (Aida), Robert de Beaudricourt (St. Joan), Mr. Laurence (Little Women), King Marchand (Victor Victoria), Danvers Carew (Jekyll And Hyde - The Musical), Priest (Bare - The Pop Opera), Dennis Shepard (The Laramie Project), Frederick Chasuble and Lady Bracknell (The Importance Of Being Earnest), Herr Gabor (Spring Awakening), Duane Wilson (Harvey) and his cabaret show, Pieces Of Dreams.
Theodore/Terry (Thomas J. Kane)
Mr. Kane is a late blooming actor who is living his dream of being an actor. Starting with learning to act truthfully at HB Studio he has realized his dream coming true. Among his favorite roles so far are: The Stage Manager and Doc Gibbs in separate productions of Our Town, Renfield in Dracula, Robert in Proof, Gangster #2 in Kiss Me Kate, Polonius in Hamlet and Tiger Brown in Threepenny Opera. Thank you to The Heights Players for bringing back live theater to Brooklyn. Thank you as well to Ted Thompson for another opportunity to work on stage with a wonderful group of artists. And to VOH just because! Break a leg to all!!
Rita (Margaret Sullivan)
Margaret is an actress and singer who was last seen live onstage as Berthe in Pippin for the Brooklyn Players Community Musical Theater. She has also appeared at The Heights Players as Mrs. Sowerberry in Oliver! and Lady Alice More in A Man For All Seasons as well as at the Gallery Players Black Box New Play Festival and in Two Women as part of last year’s zoom reading series at Gallery Players. She also appeared recently in two streaming productions at The Heights Players: Little Women and Overtones. Among her favorite roles are Mrs. Bramson in Night Must Fall, Deirdre O’Malley in Noel Coward’s Waiting In The Wings, Mrs. Paroo in The Music Man, Maggie in The Women, and Heidi Schiller, in Follies.
Michael/Gloria (Arthur Strasburger)
Arthur is delighted to be returning to The Heights Players after appearing in their production of Breakfast At Tiffany’s. As a Chicago native, he studied acting at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts, and has recently appeared in the St. Jean’s Players’ productions of The Man Who Came To Dinner and Curtains. He’d like to thank his little sister, amazing mother, and incredible grandmother for their constant love and support.
George/Valentina (Marcus Troy)
Marcus is very pleased to be making his Heights Players debut in Casa Valentina. Born and raised in the DC area he studied theater at Virginia Tech and Catholic University and performed in many productions both amateur and professional in the WDC metropolitan area. Having relocated to NYC, Marcus was proud to be a part of the original production Four.Five.One. by Kenneth Hunn, an adaptation of Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. He can currently be seen in the YouTube series UpCode directed by Jerry Topitzer and in the soon to be released projects of Émigré directed by Freddie Connor and Colin in Black & White directed by Ava DuVernay.
Albert/Bessie (Thomas N. Tyler)
Tom previously found the “girl within” on our stage as Cagelle Clo-Clo/US Albin in La Cage Aux Folles, Sheldon in The Ritz and The Countess in Sugar Babies. He also appeared here many years ago as Ed in Fierstein’s Torch Song Trilogy. Gratitude and love to RTW for the past three + decades. Time flies when you’re having fun. To Albert, my BFF for four decades, our many Halloweens together trained me well for this role.
Jonathon/Miranda (Jordan Yarwood)
Jordan is grateful and honored to be back at The Heights for the return of live theatre. During the 2019-20 season, he debuted with HP as Peachy Weil in The Last Night of Ballyhoo and Tulsa in Gypsy. Other favorite credits include Pippin (Pippin), Smokey Joe’s Cafe (Best Production, PACT), and Look Back in Anger (Cliff; Best Supporting Actor, Lantzy Award). He thanks Ted for this role of a lifetime. He dedicates this performance to his real life better half, Mallory, the most amazing woman he knows...and their new little Hopper. “Really, child, [BE] what makes you happy.”
