A story that burns to be told. The ghostly memory of Sophie, a 16-year-old seamstress from the early 1900s, reaches across time to Malena, a young Hispanic girl from a modern-day immigrant family. Set against the backdrop of the infamous Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire of 1911, the phantom of Sophie unravels a tale to Malena relaying a narrative about sisterhood, class struggle, labor justice, family dynamics, and how past tragedies continue to reverberate.
