Johánna CrystalJohánna Crystal, Sunny's Founder, is a writer, actor, director and multiartist from Elk Grove. She holds a BA in journalism from Sacramento State. For this showcase she created, she will perform her original song, “Kahon” ("Box"). It is an ode to growing into your own person and walking away from what is not meant for you to make room for what is.
Crystal has also previously acted in and directed "Water by the Spoonful" and her whimsical murder mystery, "Anything Green". Her first play she helmed through Sunny was “City of Trees”, a love letter to this city and to healing. It is now available to borrow from the Sac Public Library.

Sarah Dedal LopezSarah Lopez is in her fourth season with Sunny Side Theatre Co. As Chief Financial Officer and a company actor, she is grateful to be a part of the first Black & Filipino, women-led nonprofit theatre company in Sacramento. Her journey with Sunny Side continues to be eye-opening for her. She would like to thank her family for their love and support. She simply couldn’t do it without her husband, Chris, and her little Milo.

M. PerezM. Perez is Sunny Side's Technical Director. She has previously designed sound, lighting, and set pieces for “City of Trees” and "Water by the Spoonful". She also originated the role of Vetrall (“Anything Green”). A longtime musician, she has played trombone in theater orchestras in Woodland and Davis, including productions of “Les Miserables” and “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”. Perez is thrilled to continue Sunny's original work in a new space and with a stellar team.

Jazz LewisJazz Lewis is a musician, organizer, dancer, choreographer and event intern for Sacramento Filipinx LGBTQIA. Jazz resides in Elk Grove, hosting events there and in Sacramento centering art, culture and community. When she’s not hosting events, she’s working on her music and currently finding her voice as a solo artist white uplifting other musicians and artists behind the scenes.

Kevin TangKevin was born and raised in Elk Grove and has always been a strong supporter of the visual
arts, performance art, and theatre. In high school, he enjoyed attending theatre productions
and eventually even found himself on the crew a couple of times. His favorite productions are
musicals, with "Rocky Horror" and "Hairspray" being at the top of the list. Kevin’s first
introduction to Sunny Side was as an audience member of “Water by the Spoonful", and after
seeing the chemistry between the company members, he was excited to join the fun!
