In the Heights is a story that takes place in Washington Heights in Upper Manhattan, New York. The story follows a predominantly Latino and Chicano community and neighborhood as they pursue big dreams and face adversity. The main character, Usnavi owns a corner bodega and longs for the opportunity to return to the Dominican Republic with his cousin, Sonny to buy the bodega that belonged to his departed father. Throughout the show, audience members will learn the stories of multiple neighbors and how they are eagerly awaiting their own dreams and aspirations to take off. Join those in the barrio for an evening to discover how diversity, hope, love, community, and family allow us to find the light in the darkest of places.
