STOA: A New Musical Journey

Lycoming College – Clarke Chapel, Williamsport, PA
January 9–18, 2026

STOA: A New Musical Journey is an original, family-friendly musical about courage, connection, and the wisdom we find in nature—and in each other. Created in Williamsport, PA by writer and composer Alivia C. Tagliaferri, STOA follows the heartfelt story of STOA, a devoted mother bear, and her young cub John Bear, who experience love, loss, and the challenges of life.

Guided by a cast of vibrant woodland characters—including the ancient Mother Tree, the joyful Little Ones of the Forest, and a hare who has become disconnected from nature—STOA and John Bear discover the importance of bravery, connection, and finding their way home.

With memorable songs, immersive storytelling, and themes that resonate with children and adults alike, STOA invites audiences to experience a world where nature sings and every step of the journey matters.

This premiere production features local actors, musicians, and students, celebrating the spirit of community and the power of shared story. Join us in Clarke Chapel for a magical new musical that reminds us all: Every journey begins with a single step—and every step teaches us who we are.
