About Much Ado About Nothing (Bruno Sammartino Park)
The war has ended, and the men are returning home victorious. Don Pedro, the Prince of Arragon, and his compatriots Benedick and Claudio have stopped at the home of Leonato, the Governor of Messina, for a brief respite on their return.Young Claudio has caught the eye of Leonato’s daughter, Hero, and before long, they are engaged to be wed. Meanwhile, tensions and old resentments flare between Benedick and Leonato’s niece Beatrice. Don Pedro enlists the other characters into a plan to turn the pair’s fiery, hateful passions toward one another and watch them fall desperately in love with one another. But all is not as well as it seems, as Don Pedro’s bastard brother Don John hatches a plan to throw this idyllic love story into disarray. It falls upon the lovably dim Dogberry and the rest of the Watch to get to the bottom of this plot and bring us to a satisfying conclusion. Join us for one of the Bard’s most beloved comedies, full of love, laughter, witty banter, and shockingly dark twists in three beautiful outdoor locations in the North Hills of Pittsburgh.
