About 42nd Street

Come along and listen to the lullaby of Broadway! 42nd Street celebrates Broadway, Times Square and the magic of show biz with wit, humor and pizzazz. At the height of the Great Depression, aspiring chorus girl Peggy Sawyer comes to the big city from Allentown PA, and soon lands her first big job in the ensemble of a glitzy new Broadway show. But just before opening night, the leading lady breaks her ankle. Will Peggy be able to step in and become a star? The score is chock-full of Broadway standards, including "You're Getting To Be A Habit With Me," "Dames," "We're In the Money," "Lullaby of Broadway," "Shuffle Off to Buffalo" and "Forty-Second Street."

Stamford High School

As the drama club at Stamford High School, the Strawberry Hill Players are composed of very talented actors, singers, dancers, and all-around wonderful people (if we do say so ourselves)! The club involves two parts: first, the theater sector, in which performers, our costume crew, and tech troupe put on plays and musicals for the community to enjoy. Second, the Strawberry Hill Improv Players (SHIP) bring hilarious improv comedy to life in their productions! Each year we put together marvelous productions, including a fall play, Senior Scenes, Knight of Cabaret, and a spring musical. Recently, we have been recognized at the Stephen Sondheim Awards and Connecticut HALO competition. Our last two musicals, The Prom  and Mamma Mia received a total of 14 nominations and won a total of FIVE Sondheim Awards for Best Student Sound Design, Best Supporting Actress, Best Choreography, and Best Ensemble and Best Leading Actress in a musical!
