About Touching The Void

Touching the Void is a gripping stage play adapted by David Greig from Joe Simpson’s 1988 memoir of the same name. It dramatizes one of the most extraordinary survival stories in mountaineering history. Set in 1985, the play follows British climbers Joe Simpson and Simon Yates as they attempt to scale the west face of Siula Grande in the Peruvian Andes a route never before successfully climbed. After reaching the summit, disaster strikes during their descent. It’s a psychological and emotional exploration of survival, guilt, and resilience.
