The Poet (Robert Tombari)
Robert Tombari is a classically trained actor, producer, and educator. He received his MFA in Acting, with an emphasis in Shakespeare, from The Royal Birmingham Conservatoire in Birmingham, England where he lived for two years. He holds a BA in Theatre Arts from Boise State University. He is the Executive Director of Spokane Ensemble Theatre, and current Resident Artist & Board President at Stage Left Theater. Robert has toured the Pacific Northwest with Idaho Theatre for Youth part of Idaho Shakespeare Festival. He has performed locally at Spokane Civic Theatre (Morris, Present Laughter) at Stage Left Theater (The Poet, An Iliad; Jody, Lonely Planet; Mack The Knife, Threepenny Opera) Spokane Shakespeare Society (Actor 2, The Complete Works of William Shakespeare Abridged), and at Spokane Ensemble Theatre (Sir Toby Belch, Twelfth Night). Over the COVID-19 pandemic Robert created the Masterpiece Monologues series and Words That Changed The World for Stage Left Theater. He was a nominee for the Spokane Arts Award for Imagination.
The Muse (David Casteal)
David Casteal (The Muse) has been coaching and teaching children for 29 years. A Florida native, he attended the University of Alabama on a full football scholarship earning a BA in communication. After graduation, David continued his athletic career in Europe for two years before earning a Masters degree in reading from Whitworth University. He also holds a PhD in cultural studies; spending extensive time in Africa studying West African drum and dance. Dr. Casteal was the director of the drumming group KuUmba; seven drummers he worked with from 5th to 12th grade. KuUmba performed throughout the northwest eventually spending a month in Ghana, Africa studying drum rhythms. David co-wrote the one man show YORK and performed the play throughout the U.S. including a two-week run on 78th Street and Broadway in New York City. YORK is the story of the only black man on the Lewis & Clark Expedition. He lives in Spokane, Washington with his wife Candace and daughter Ava.
