The Crucible Cast

Thomas Putnam (Paul Beaulieu)
Paul has been involved with Stage Door Productions since 2013. He has been seen onstage in multiple One Act Productions, as well as productions of "Ordinary Days" and "Shrek". Behind the scenes, Paul has directed and music directed multiple youth productions and most recently was the Director for "Having Our Say". Paul is excited to be back doing live theater and is happy for the opportunity to perform in "The Crucible". In the future, Paul will be music directing "Legally Blonde Jr." with his wife, Amy and stage managing for "Two Trains Running" in February. He is a past President of the Stage Door Foundation.
Tituba (Jorianna Bennett)
Jorianna is so excited to be portraying Tituba in Stage Door Productions "The Crucible"! She has been in 12 shows and her favorite was “The Story” where she played Naomi. She thanks the amazing cast and crew that put this story to life!
Giles Corey (Spike Burton)
With one movie credit, 4 records, and a total of 20 years of performing to his name, Spike Burton is a professional singer/songwriter who is excited to make his theatre debut as the stuffy old codger, Giles Corey, in "The Crucible". He would like to thank everyone involved for making all of this possible.
Susana Walcott (Rachel Cantwell)
Rachel is a tenth grader and "The Crucible" is her eleventh show. It is also her sixth Stage Door production. She was last seen in "As You Like It", and enjoys cosplaying and painting.
John Willard (Thane Chaves)
Thane splits their time between their job as a kennel tech and their secret double life as a cat person. This will be his fifth show with SDP; you may have spotted them as Violet in "Play On". In their free time, you can probably find him watching Critical Role.
Abigail Williams (Jessica Claros)
Jessica has attended the National Conservatory of Dramatic Arts and graduated in March of 2020. Her favorite character she’s played in school was Jane Bennet from "Pride and Prejudice". Although she has done more film work since graduating, she wants to expand her experience in theatre and is excited to perform in her first theatre show outside of school. She is grateful for the support of her family and friends who continue to support her in achieving her dreams.
Elizabeth Proctor (Linda Click)
Linda is a proud wife and mom of two. She spent much of her youth engrossed in the creative arts but drifted away during her professional career. Linda now enjoys tap dancing, painting, crafting, and is excited to return to the theater after spending too many years away!
Francis Nurse (David Featherston)
David has appeared in some 150 productions since 1964. Among his favorite roles at Stage Door are Stage Manager in "Our Town", Virgil in "Bus Stop", Carl in "Mornings at Seven", Dr Einstein in "Arsenic and Old Lace" and Mr. Green in "Visiting Mr. Green". Other favorite roles include Grandpa in "You Can't Take it With You", Roy in "Trip to Bountiful", Cab Driver in "Harvey", and most recently, Phil in "Greetings".
Rebecca Nurse (Kami Fox)
Kami is happy to be back on Stage Door Productions’ stage a second time. Past shows include "As You Like It" (Rosalind).
Judge Hathorne (Bill Green)
Bill Green, an author and retired English professor with sixty years experience in amateur and professional theatre, recently directed "As You Like It", his seventh Shakespeare production since moving to Fredericksburg nine years ago. As Banjo Bill, he's a singer-songwriter with a YouTube comedy series.
Ezekiel Cheever (James Howard)
Jim is happy to be back on the boards after a three year absence. He's been involved in directing in NoVa during this time with shows such as "A Party To Murder," "Driving Miss Daisy" and "Jesus Christ Superstar". He's a member or SAG-AFTRA and has been featured and background in a number of film and television productions. He spent two years as a stand-in for actor Gerald McRaney on the show "House of Cards." His favorite role was that of Walt Drummond in the NBC Drama "Homicide Life In The Street". He thanks his family, especially his wife Terry for letting him out of the house to do this show. It's a better commute than driving 50 miles north.
Martha Corey / Sarah Goode (Molly Lucas)
Molly is an experienced actress, talented singer, and hardcore gamer, with performances in 9 plays, as well as cast member in The Virginia Renaissance Fair, where her improv ability shines. Throughout quarantine Molly has quickly developed skill in swing dancing, auto maintenance, and cosplay. This is her 2nd play with Stage Door.
John Proctor (Kevin Perry)
Spending a decade performing opera, Kevin found out that the "good life" was a peaceful existence in Fredericksburg. Being familiar with the stage, playing among others Shakespeare’s "Petruchio" and "Macbeth", Max ("Lend me a Tenor") - nothing surpasses performing with his son Winston. In his spare time, Kevin practices family law.
John Hale (Winston Perry)
Winston Perry is a 17-year-old boy who is playing the role of Rev. Hale in "The Crucible." He has done other projects with Stage Door including, "The Curious Incident of the Dog in The Nighttime," "Elf Jr.," and "Into the Woods Jr." He has done shows and participates in choir at his school, as well as dances at a local studio. He is planning on going to college in the fall of 2022 and is interested in continuing theatre throughout the rest of his life.
Danforth (Abdel Hamid Shehata)
Abdel is a computer science student at UMW. Lieutenant Governor Danforth in the Crucible will be his second role, after his first performance as Silvius in "As You Like It". He considers himself an aspiring bard, and in addition to acting, he enjoys playing music and writing poetry.
Mary Warren (Ava Sherwood)
This is Ava's 5th show with Stage Door. She is thrilled to be playing Mary Warren, and is excited to be back in the theater!
Betty Parris (Alice Varela)
Alice is excited to debut in her very first speaking role onstage. Past shows include ensemble in "Hello Dolly", and "Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat".
Ann Putnam (Ashley Whorley)
This is Ashley’s first show with Stage Door Productions. She is excited to get back on stage after COVID shut things down for so long. She has performed in various plays and musicals with Soldier’s Theatre in Vicenza, Italy before moving to Fredericksburg; most recently, as Jacquie in "Disaster: A 70s Movie Musical". After years of teaching "The Crucible" to her English students, Ashley is excited help bring it to life with Stage Door.
Samuel Parris (Direck Whorley)
Usually found in the sound booth or with the band, Direck was convinced by his kids to audition for a show 4 years ago. He was cast as Dauntless in "Once Upon A Mattress" at Soldiers Theatre in Vicenza, Italy and officially became a “theatre person”. Periodically, he can be prodded from the booth or vocal director’s chair and his day job in the US Army to make an appearance on stage. This is his first performance with SDP and he is looking forward to being a part of the FXBG theatre community.
Mercy Lewis (Emily Whorley)
Emily is excited for her first show with Stage Door Productions, and is thrilled to be back from the world of virtual theater! She has preformed for as long as she can remember- from shows in her living room, to school, to Soldier’s Theater in Italy, and now here in her SDP debut. Recently she has preformed as Yvette in "Clue", Elizabeth Lavenza in a podcast production of "Frankenstein", as well as co-authoring and acting in "The Lost Year- A 2020 play". Enjoy the show!
