About Godspell - The Musical

Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from three-time Grammy and Academy Award winner, Stephen Schwartz (Wicked, Pippin, Children of Eden); and it took the world by storm. Led by the international hit, "Day by Day," Godspell features a parade of beloved songs, including "Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord," "Learn Your Lessons Well," "All for the Best," "All Good Gifts," "Turn Back, O Man" and "By My Side."

A small group of people help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, is employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life.

Allstate Community Theater

The Allstate Community Theater is the result of a $300,000 gift from the Manfredi Family of Stafford Virginia. The funds provided helped to build the 6,000 square foot multi-use theater space which includes, two rehearsal areas, wardrobe, laundry, and prop rooms, and a large green room with two dressing rooms for artist. The theater has a general lounge, bar, and concessions, as well as a 10'x16' children's stage and a 44'x22' main stage auditorium, seating up to 200 on 7 different levels.

The facility is equipped with a professional sound and lighting system, and host numerous Theatrical Groups, and Performing Arts Institutes. It is the intent of the facility to provide space to local theater groups, to perform, without individual overhead costs.

The Manfredi Family Project has helped to bring local theater to Williamsburg Virginia, Saint Simons Island Georgia, and Brunswick Georgia.  The Fredericksburg Community Theater is the latest gift from the Manfredi Family.

The project only included the cost to develop, construct, and equip the theater. Patron, ticket sales, and financial supporters like you, are the sources of the required funds to maintain operations, pay for rents and utilities, as well as the cost of productions, rights, and other materials associated with the operational phase of the theater.
