Original Creative Team

The core creative team of Heathers the Musical includes book writers, composers, and lyricists Kevin Murphy and Laurence O'Keefe, and director Andy Fickman. The rights to license the musical for production are held by Concord Theatricals (formerly Samuel French). 

Writers

• Kevin Murphy: Co-wrote the book, music, and lyrics. His other work includes the musical Reefer Madness and writing for the television show Desperate Housewives.
• Laurence O'Keefe: Co-wrote the book, music, and lyrics. His other notable works include the music and lyrics for Bat Boy: The Musical and Legally Blonde: The Musical. 

Director

• Andy Fickman: Directed the Off-Broadway and U.K. productions of the musical. He also has film credits, including Reefer Madness and She's the Man. 

Film inspiration
The musical is based on the 1989 cult film Heathers, which was written by Daniel Waters. 

Licensing rights

• Concord Theatricals: For amateur and professional productions of Heathers the Musical, Concord Theatricals (which acquired the previous rights holder Samuel French) manages the licensing.
