Once on This Island Jr. Cast

Christine Addai is a sixth grader at Baldwin Middle School. She has been acting with Mrs. Robyn since she was 5 or 6 years old. Some of her previous roles are the doorknob in Alice in Wonderland, Skipper in Madagascar, and Angelica in our excerpt from Hamilton. This will be her first time being the lead in a play. Some of Christine’s hobbies are drawing, singing, baking, and reading.

Maya Singh is 11 years old and excited to be in another performance with Sparkle on Stage. Maya was in Sparkle On Stage’s staged reading of Thumbelina, and was part of Broadway in the Attic. Maya also loves to draw and plays piano. Maya is grateful for her parents for always supporting her.

Derik is an honor roll 8th grader. He has been an artist/musician since he was born. He sat for his first piano lesson at 3 years old. He's been playing the piano for 10 years and the oboe for 4 years. He participates in his school's select chorale, mass choir, jazz band and full band where he has the opportunity to expand all of his gifts. Derik's artistic gifts have always been nurtured and supported since he was a baby.

Chloe Cleckley was born on December 29, 2011 in Atlanta GA, but has lived in Freeport since 6 months old. She is a 4th grader at Leo Giblyn School in Freeport. Chloe's favorite subject is math. She plays the viola in the school orchestra and is also a member of the school's step team, game club, math club, and sports club. In addition, Chloe studies Taekwondo and has reached Black Belt rank. She is also a member of the leadership program and helps the lower ranks practice and prepare for their next level. Chloe's next goal is to achieve a staff uniform as she begins training for her 1st degree Black Belt. For fun, Chloe enjoys basketball, Fortnite and playing with her dog Max. She has been in Cinderella, a previous production with Ms. Robyn.

Sydney Rembert is making her acting debut in Once On This Island Jr. Sydney, an honor student at Caroline G. Atkinson School, is an actress/singer/dancer who makes life her stage everyday. She is grateful to her family and friends for their love and support and would like to thank all those involved in Once On This Island Jr. for making this the most rewarding experience of her life.

This is Rajan's first time on stage and first year with Sparkle on Stage. Rajan loves to sing and dance. He plays drums and loves to draw. He is also part of the band and chorus at his school. He loves spending time with family, his friends and loves the Mets. He is very excited to be part of the Sparkle on Stage Cast!

Carter Golding is excited to be featured in his third performance with Sparkle on Stage! Previously casted in Thumbelina and the Princess in the Pea, he is eager to expand his talent as he takes on various roles in his current theater production. Carter takes piano lessons, drama classes, is learning Spanish, and plays soccer. He also loves video games and is a great Minecraft, Fortnite, and Roblox. Carter thanks God for his many accomplishments. He appreciates the love, support, and encouragement he receives from his family and is grateful to have them.

Malia is excited about having joined Sparkle on Stage and her first acting role ever in its production of "Once on this Island!" In addition to acting, Malia loves to sing and dance. Malia has particpated in talent shows as well as several public speaking engagements which have helped to prepare her for her current role. Malia also enjoys playing Volleyball with St. Christopher's Catholic Youth Organization team. In addition, she really loves displaying her dance moves on Tiktok. Malia would like to thank her parents for their unwavering support in all of her dreams and aspirations.

Amaya is 9 years old. She’s in the 4th grade and attends Our Lady of Peace School in Lynbrook. Amaya loves dancing, acting, Gymnastic and modeling. She also plays the flute for her school band. One of her future goals is to be Ms. Teen USA. Amaya dreams of becoming a famous actress and moving to Hollywood California one day. Amaya hopes that her experience working with Ms. Robin will help her accomplish her acting goals.

Zedejanae is 14 years old and has performed in the following summer productions: The Little Mermaid, Alice in Wonderland, Snow White & The Seven Dwarfs, Grease, The 10th Year Anniversary Celebration, and Madagascar. Zedejanae likes to play video games, go outside and play with friends, rollerblading, and spending time with family. She enjoys playing sports such as basketball, football, and has started playing softball. She likes to travel and has been to Puerto Rico, St. Thomas USVI, Italy, Spain, Greece, and Alaska to name a few. Zedejanae’s first Broadway show was Annie and she has been drawn to the Theatre ever since.

My name is Alicemarie Suazo. I am 7 years old. I have been doing dance for 4 years, and love to sing. This is my first year with Sparkle on Stage.

After performing various roles in “Broadway in the Attic,” as narrator in“Thumbelina,” and Scrooge in “A Christmas Carol,” with Sparkle on Stage previously, David de la Llera is very excited to return to Sparkle on Stage for this spring's performance of “Once on this Island.” As Tonton Julian and Daniel’s father. Before David joined Sparkle on Stage, David performed as Doody in “Grease,” Tweedledee in “Alice in Wonderland,” and as Marty in “Madagascar.” Along with all of this, David takes voice lessons with the Director of Sparkle on Stage, Ms. Robyn. Outside of acting and singing, David can be found reading, swimming, playing Genshin Impact, riding his bike around the neighborhood, or participating in academic extracurriculars. David would like to thank his amazing mom and dad for always supporting him no matter what and helping him get through all of his struggles in life.

I’m Daniella and I am 11 years old. I played two characters whose names are Andrea and MAMA. I like to play soccer, tennis, and volleyball. I like to eat Macaroni & Cheese, Soups, Burgers, and Candy. I enjoy doing acting classes because it allows me to feel what I am feeling in the moment. I also enjoy singing, dancing, and making facial expressions. The most important thing is to have fun!

Diem Van Gulden was born on July 13th, 2012. She is in the 4th grade and attends Chatterton Elementary. Once On This Island is her acting debut and she is so happy to be a part of the show. Reading, music, art and writing stories are just a few of Diem’s hobbies! She plays the violin in school and is teaching herself to play the electric drums. Diem has a passion for horror films and her dream is to act in movies.
