About Southcoast Music Series: Max and Heather Stalling

Meet Max & Heather Stalling

Max & Heather Stalling are a dynamic singer-songwriter duo from Dallas, Texas, bringing a rich blend of heartfelt lyrics, strong vocals, and masterful fiddle playing to the heart of Texas and Americana music.

Max Stalling

Armed with a master’s degree in Food Science from Texas A&M University, Max traded his lab coat for a guitar—leaving behind a career as a research scientist at Frito-Lay to pursue his calling as a singer-songwriter.

For more than 20 years, Max has toured, gigged, and hustled nonstop, building a large and loyal fanbase along the way. He’s played just about every venue you’ve heard of—and plenty you haven’t.

With six studio albums, three live projects, and a chart-topping history in Americana radio, Max is a cornerstone of the Texas / Red Dirt music scene. His star on the South Texas Music Walk of Fame in Corpus Christi stands as a testament to his lasting impact.

Heather Stalling

An award-winning violinist and fiddle player, Heather’s musical journey began at the age of three. As a child and young teenager, she competed in fiddle contests across Texas and neighboring states—traveling with her parents, winning trophies, and gaining fans along the way.

At 18, Heather was recruited straight out of college to become a member of The Texas Gold Minors in Branson, Missouri. After returning to Texas, she became a highly sought-after fiddle player, performing with notable artists including Bob Schneider, Cory Morrow, Johnny Lee, and Mark David Manders, among others.

She later co-founded blacktopGYPSY with longtime friend Andie Kay Joyner, writing original music, touring extensively, and releasing two full-length studio albums.

Together, They Soar

Married since 2007, Max and Heather are finally bringing their talents together in a powerful and long-awaited collaboration. Max handles rhythm guitar and lead vocals, while Heather adds her exceptional fiddle work and harmony vocals—creating a sound that is both seasoned and refreshingly new.

The Show

Their live performances blend Max’s two decades of original songwriting, select joint compositions, and thoughtfully chosen covers into a show full of musical excellence, storytelling, witty banter, and humor.

First-time listeners can expect a fun, engaging balance of strong originals, world-class fiddle playing, and authentic Texas storytelling.

New Beginnings

Max and Heather are thrilled to step into this new chapter together—sharing their love for music, life, and collaboration with audiences old and new. Don’t miss the chance to experience the magic as they take this special project on the road.
