Crossing the Abyss Cast

Sylvia (Lynda Levy Barrett)
Lynda Levy Barrett (Sylvia) is very active in local theater. She has performed with New Jewish Theatre, St. Louis Actors Studio, Hawthorne Players, Alpha Players, Theatre Guild of Webster Groves, Act Two Theatre Co. and others. Some of her favorite roles include Vivian Bearing in Wit, Madame Armfeldt in A Little Night Music, and all three female leads in different productions of The Cemetery Club. She is thrilled to be making her debut with Slaying Dragons and has thoroughly enjoyed being a part of this thought-provoking production. She dedicates her performance to her father, who passed away last July - he was her biggest fan and she will miss seeing him smiling at her from the audience.
Dianne, the daughter (Kim Morris)
Kim Morris is a high school English teacher at Duchesne High School in St. Charles, MO. Her passion for literature has led her to a passion for theater as well, and she has enjoyed being challenged and growing in her acting abilities. She started her acting “career” performing with O’Fallon Theatre Works in the fall of 2010. Her favorite roles include Elizabeth Proctor in The Crucible, Juror 4 in Twelve Angry Jurors, Vivian Bearing in Wit, and Belinda in Noises Off! This is her first production with Slaying Dragons, and she hopes it is not the last. Spreading awareness of mental issues and mental illness is near and dear to her heart as a caretaker of an adult son with severe OCD, depression, narcissism, and other mental illnesses
Sandy, a friend (Cindy Duggan)
CINDY DUGGAN (Sandy) has appeared in multiple Slaying Dragons productions and workshops. She has been onstage since age 15. From musical family, she started as a dancer in musicals, and graduating rapidly to singer, actress, leading lady, director, choreographer. Major roles include GLASS MENAGERIE, DEATH OF A SALESMAN, A CHORUS LINE, THE FULL MONTY, GUYS & DOLLS, FOLLIES, VICTOR/VICTORIA, CABARET, CHICAGO. In her "spare" time, she was a legal secretary for over 50 years, finally retiring so I can sleep and enjoy my life leisurely!!! Thank you, Jim Danek! Glad to support Slaying Dragons and its mission.
Richard, Dianne's husband (Tom Moore)
Tom has been with Slaying Dragons since before it was Slaying Dragons, and has performed in many of its productions, such as A Hatful of Rain, Long Day's Journey into Night, Voices of Depression, and Voices in the Woods. He has also performed with St. Louis Shakespeare, Hawthorn Players, Clayton Community Theatre, First Run Theatre, Stray Dog Theatre, Theatre Guild of Webster Groves, and Act II Theatre. This is his first attempt at directing; we'll see if it becomes a habit! Thank you, Jim Danek!
David, the grandson (Ryan Schuster)
This is Ryan’s second play and he is extremely grateful to have been asked to participate. He has had multiple family members with dementia so he hopes to convey the importance of such a topic. He is thankful to Tom for being a great director and to the cast for making this such a fun experience.
