The Producers Cast

Jason Cabrera  (Max Bialystock)
EXPERIENCE: Acting for about 26 years, acted professionally on and off for 15 years. Directed for 18 years, technical and design experience for about 20 years, on and off. My favorite role I ever played, besides Max of course, is Gomez Addams who I had the honor of playing LAST year in the Addams Family Musical right here at Sierra Vista Community Theatre. I am also the President of the board of this theatre as well as the Technical Director and head of production...so, you know, if you need something I am probably busy, but ASK ANYWAY! I will figure it out! FAVORITE MUSICAL: The Producers... no really, ask anyone who knows me! I want to thank my beautiful partner, Carol Rodriguez for her endless patience in letting me indulge in my passion and her unending support for my career, this crazy hobby of mine, and my sanity. You are my best friend, and I love you. Also my amazing kids, Gabe and Izzy who remind me every day what is most important in this life. I hope I am half as good at being your dad as you are at being good hearted, exceptional kids! I also want to thank my Mother, Tanya Kline, who has been my biggest fan my entire life, and Stepfather, Chuck Kline for his support. They have amazingly decided to donate some of their time to volunteering at the theatre as well! Also my Sister, Jenn Gauglitz who probably knows me better than anyone because we've been through it all together! Also my Brother-in-Law Geoff Gaugiltz who comes to all of my shows and puts up with me talking (and talking and talking) theatre at family nights every month! I also want to thank my extended family, all the volunteers here at SVCT. I am honored to work with you all (don't let that go to your head, Emily :p) and am humbled to have the opportunity to play one of my dream roles on this stage for the second year in a row! Finally, not that he will ever read this, but I want to thank Mel Brooks. You are a comedic genius and helped to shape my love of comedy and showbiz in general! This show is a masterpiece in my mind, and playing Max will stick with me for the rest of my life! Thank you, and as always: "It's good to be the king." ;) ing...
Teddy Cleveland  (Leo Bloom)
EXPERIENCE: Teddy's love of performing began at the age of 11, when he was in "The Comedy of Errors" with the Bisbee Repertory Theater. He later went off to join Christian Youth Theater in Tucson, where he got to enjoy roles such as The Cowardly Lion in "The Wizard of OZ", Lord Farquaad in "Shrek the Musical", Captain Hook in "Peter Pan", and many others. After graduating High School, Teddy moved on to Pima Community College's theater program, and afterwards performed at The Gaslight Theater. Most Recently he was Young Scrooge in "A Christmas Carol" and part of the Ensemble in "Carousel" with Arts Express. After a five year hiatus, Teddy is excited to be back on stage for his first show with Sierra Vista Community Theater! FAVORITE MUSICAL: No musical hits me quite like Les Miserable! I love it so much that I read the book. That didn't hit quite the same though.. it was missing some songs. I would just like to thank everyone involved in The Producers and The Sierra Vista Community Theater for reminding me why I love performing! And I want to thank my wonderful wife Emily for being my biggest fan, and being the best scene partner a person can have. I love you!

The story line, the character development, the songs!! Such a masterpiece. But I am also a sucker for Beauty and the Beast! The music gives me goosebumps every time! And who didn't think I was a "Karen" for saying, "Um no, don't go THERE." In case you're wondering why almost all my characters use mobility devices: yes, I have an unpredictable movement disorder. I've been accused of faking or exaggerating my disability; this is the first time I actually get to do what I've been accused of. It's oddly liberating. And so is mocking Nazis.
