About Grease:School Version

GREASE: School Version with Book, Music & Lyrics written by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey.  Since its electric Broadway and West End debut in the early 1970’s, GREASE has remained one of the world’s most popular and enduring musicals. Funny, frank and featuring the hit songs “Greased Lightnin’,” “Hopelessly Devoted to You,” “You’re The One That I Want,” and “Summer Nights,” GREASE follows the journey of Danny and Sandy, alongside the Burger Palace Boys and the Pink Ladies, as they navigate high school to the unforgettable rock n’ roll soundtrack that defined generations.  Our production is specially designed for young audiences! Shorter and more suitable in content for teens and preteens, this abridged version retains the fun-loving spirit and immortal songs that make Grease a favorite among rock 'n' roll fans of all ages.

Shrine Catholic High School

The Performing Arts Department at Shrine Catholic High School has a long history of presenting outstanding performances.

A musical is presented each spring that includes more than 40% of our student population. Students not only perform on the stage,  but are involved behind the scenes building and painting sets, helping also with props, costumes, lights and sound. Recent musicals include Disney Freaky Friday, Disney Beauty and the Beast, Children of Eden, Footloose, Bye Bye Birdie, and The Sound of Music.

Also, a more recent tradition of presenting a fall drama or comedy has found a home at Shrine.  Recent fall productions include A Christmas Carol, Murders in the Heir, The Giver, Clue, Radium Girls, and Little Women.

At Shrine Catholic High School we form a foundation of success through Catholic teachings, hands-on learning, technology, and college-preparatory curriculum. Opportunities to be a part of accomplished athletics, visual and performing arts, service projects and extracurricular activities enrich the student experience and unite our families, creating a strong sense of community.
