After her parents are forced to send their daughter to school, Matilda becomes the school headmistress' archnemesis, as Matilda stands up for her fellow classmates against the injustice of Miss Trunchbull.

The evil Headmistress Miss Trunchbull is the former Olympic hammer throwing competitor who believes that children should be raised with the same form of discipline needed for competition. Believing that "No Child is Special", the Trunchbull represents the the evil authority who violates the rules to bend to their will.

The kind, compassionate Miss Honey is the teacher that all students want to have in their lives. She sees the best in all students, and the gifted abilities of Matilda Wormwood. Trying to stand up to the intimidating Headmistress Miss Trunchbull as wrongs are committed against her students demonstrates Miss Honey's personal growth toward taking a stand against injustice.
