The Play That Goes Wrong Cast

This is Julia's seventh show SDA. She is the Publicity Manager, Cornley Drama Society Stage Crew, and Taylor's Understudy. Along with helping make the show go wrong, she created/designed the poster, flier, and t-shirt design. Julia has been involved in theater for over 10 years. In her free time, she actively does Karate, traditional Mexican Folklórico dancing, and is a freelance artist. She hopes this show gives you a good chuckle.

Kai Betita (Senior) is 17 years old and plays Rachel in "The Play That Goes Wrong". He has also appeared in SDA's Little Women, Oh, Ollie!, Pippin, and Clue. He has been apart of various other shows with different companies. He loves cooking, hanging out with friends, and watching movies. He is thrilled to be playing Rachel and hopes you enjoy the show!

Jasper Bier is 16 years old and is a Junior. This is his first theater production but he is excited to see what the future holds for him. In his free time he enjoys life-guarding at moonlight beach and hanging out with friends. He is super excited to be in this production and be working with such a talented cast.

Mila Ellis is so excited to be apart of The Play That Goes Wrong as Annie! She is in her Junior year and has always loved to perform! This is her second time being on the SDA stage, previously she was in Pippin. She also participates in community theater. Most recently playing Miss Hannigan in Annie, with Solana Beach Community Theater. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Sophia is a Senior and The Play that Goes Wrong will be her 7th production with SDA. She has also appeared in their productions of Pippin, Little Women and Clue! You will see her next as Wendy in Lost Girl.

Molly Garot (Senior) is chuffed to bits for you to see The Play That Goes Wrong! This is her second time acting out of her seven productions at SDA. Her recent shows include Clue, Little Women, and Oh, Ollie! Molly is a president of SDA’s Film Club and aspires to be a screenwriter-director. She hopes you like her British accent!! Cheerio mates!!!

Connor Gorman is 15 years old, in 10th grade, and has no prior theater experience. He wanted to join this play because it seemed fun, and he also wanted to get into theater.

Curren Martin is 15 years old and in the 10th grade. The Play That Goes Wrong will be her second production as an actress at SDA, the first being “The Nicest Person in Snarksville” written by Kate Choisser and featured in the One Act Festival last year. She also wrote “Gordon Ramsay The Play The Musical: Hell’s Kitchen” for the One Acts. She has worked on publicity for last year’s fall production of Clue and was part of House Crew for Pippin' and Oh, Ollie! Outside of theatre, she enjoys gaming, art, and film! She hopes you enjoy the show!

Keegan McGowan (Senior) is so honored to be playing the roll of Perkins/Dennis. This is Keegan’s 4th production with SDA Theatre, some of his previous performances being Pippin, in Pippin, and Oliver, in Oh, Ollie. He is so happy to finish off his senior year with the SDA Theater Troupe.

Mariana (Senior) could not be more excited to be apart of The Play That Goes Wrong! She is the Makeup and Hair designer as well as the understudy for Rachel/Mary Colleymoore. She was also apart of SDA’s productions of Clue and Pippin last year.

Connor Overton is a Senior at SDA and is dead serious that you’ll laugh out loud at this wacky play. He is 18 years old and has acted since 4th grade. This is his 8th show at SDA, with past productions including Oh, Ollie! And Clue! He has also done shows at North Coast Repertory Theater and the Park Dale Players. He loves video games, marine biology and construction. Connor wants this last year to be one to remember before he heads off to college. Physical humor is one of his strong suits, so the role of Jonathan is perfect for him.

Kai Tesan is currently a Senior attending San Dieguito High school, while Kai’s main hobby is theater he also enjoys books, film, and was a former Martial Arts instructor. Kai has been doing theater since sixth grade and has continued almost every year since. He has taken a theater class every semester during his time at SDA and his love for the community and theater has grown more than he ever could imagine. From building sets to actually performing in the show Kai has enjoyed every single year and minute spent in the theater and highly encourages others to join the program as he met his closest friends and life long attachment that will carry through his future career.

Ava Welcher is thrilled to be a part of The Play That Goes Wrong as Dramaturg, Stage Crew, and Annie Understudy. Last year, she Student Directed Clue: On Stage, Assistant Stage Managed Little Women, and performed as an acrobat in Pippin. See her next month in Advanced Drama Honors’ Lost Girl as B! Ava is a Thespian Officer and an elected member of ASB, as well as an avid writer. She hopes you enjoy the show!

Kaitlyn Kopensky (Senior) is so excited to be a part of The Play that Goes Wrong. They are very passionate about performing and had so much fun working on this production. She has been part of past productions like Clue, Haunting of Hill House, and Oh! Ollie, and she loves singing and dancing along to her favorite musicals. Outside of the theater, he enjoys reading and drawing, as well as acting out all his favorite movie and musical scenes for fun.
